There is no 'unlimited variety' of gear. Except build defining items that are few and far between one needs life resist and rarity on all items.

Once one has 70 life 30all res 30 speed boots he needs not anything more.
Same with chest and other items.

Few builds require uniques like blood dance (that are cheap) or insanely expensive Shavs as a build defining item. True.

But to say that there are insane gearing possibilities is a lie.

It is 'buffer' + resists + weapon. In most cases it biols down to one 'build' item and 'filler' that is identical for all builds.

There is some variety with weapons but in most cases fast crit 1h trumphs all other options

so all you need is 1 chest, 1 boot, 1 hat, 1 glove etc to do 'most' of the builds? Well I vendor more than 1 endgame viable item for every slot every day, so remind me why solo self found isnt viable again?

you are way off, but if I humor what you are saying you actually invalidate all the points I am debating against. Sadly you are wrong and most builds dont use identical items, a phys attacker ring is different to an ele attacker is different to caster ring and then theres life or es to consider and what class you started as dictating what core stats you need to pick up somewhere, eb caster wants the mana and regen, bm caster does not, crit caster wants the diamond ring. Why does my ci caster want accuracy, phys damage and attack speed on her gloves? why does my ele rt build want the phys and acc? Good thing my life dagger character needs exactly those things.

While I would like to just take what you say and prove everyone else wrong with it, its not true.

The game is not playable solo self found all the way into end game unless you literally have no life or no responsibilities. This is just a matter of fact. Getting to Aztiri/Uber Aztiri would require countless of hours upon hours, upon hours, upon hours, upon hours of farming that realistically either would require you to play the game for something like multiple months if not over a year if we're talking about playing a few hours on the weekend, or you'd have to no life to the point you'd probably be ridiculed by most people in real life.


The game pushes you to trade, either you trade, or you proceed at a pace that is slow as molasses and is basically not fun.

Thats not true. People beat Dominus in Mericless with full blue gear. If you play searing bond, there is literally no any gear requirements except the usual life/resist stuff and a sceptre which you can craft yrself easily. You can reach maps without doing a single trade. Thats a matter of fact!

What is fun and what not each one has to decide himself. If someone doesnt want to trade he needs to be prepared to progress slower as someone who is exachanging items with other players.
