Are these tank builds any good?

I do think you're planning too much. just play with a character, and if it doesn't make it, reroll again. that's how I learned to make builds in this game.
Better stay in the land of the damned, Exile. Here, even the very words are corrupted by Nightmare.
Skilltree planning is only one part of successfull character planning.

Usually i do it like this.

Go to poe wiki and check skills that are curretly available.

Pick one i havent tested and would like to test.

Check which supports work with that skill.

Check someone elses builds about that skill. (Usually more than one build is checked and taken ideas out of)

Open up poebuilder and select the class i would like it to be.

add unique items i think i need and can afford to the character.

Add rare gear i have stashed to the rest of the slots.

Add gems to the sockets. Main skill + single target (not allways needed) + cwdt setups + curses + auras i would like to have.

Activate auras and notice that i have 900/400 mana reserved.....

AND FINALLY i get to start on the passive grid. first thing to do is to get +200% life or 200% es from the tree. Then keystones i need (like acrobatics or ancestral bond or what ever). Then add some defence to the build (block, acrobatics, phase acrobatics, eldrich battery, mind over matter, armour, evasion. (usually a combination of 2-3of those is enough).

After that points go to reduced mana reserved as much as possible to try to get all the auras i want on the character, if not possible drop one aura and try again. When i get the aura costs handled then the next step for me (usually ppl do this part differetly i think) is to add some more life IF i dont have to travel to get to it and rest of the 120points go to damage.

After all 120points are spent i figure out which bändit rewards i would take and reduce points from skill tree according to the rewards. Then i look at the tree and try to figure out if i can save points going to some points of the tree from a different path. Then save that tree for later uses. Use the tree and take out points i feel like i can live without untill its only 90points used (around lvl 70).

Then i take that tree and think about which skill/skills are the fastest for that build to level with (searing bond, flame blast, facebreaker what ever) and take around 10 points off from that final 90point build and add those to places which would benefit the leveling process the most and then i got my build figured out.

I then have around lvl 70 leveling build setup done.

I then have something im going to respec at that point or earlier if i feel like the build im making can be used before that.

I then have also lvl 100 dream build ready (which i will never ever get but at least its there)

Hope this helps you, at least its the way i do it.
