How do you play PoE?

I realized the other night while racing that I was spending way too much time getting all my skills placed exactly where I want them and I was wondering how everyone else sets up their game.

I always have my main skill set to the right mouse click with my curse/trap (if used) on the middle button. Move/default attack on the left button.

I use a Razer Nostromo for everything else. Almost all of the skills line up with where my fingers naturally lay.

So I'm really just curious. How do you set up your game? Pics would be cool. Maybe I will load one when I get off work.

I finally bought one of those fancy Razer mouses (mice?), a Naga or something, and I NEVER use all those side buttons. I fiddled with them for a bit but my thumb got sore.

Anyway, I'm too entrenched in my D1/D2 ways to move my main skill off the LMB UNLESS it means I can't move (see: traps). Right mouse button is usually a curse or a movement skill. Q through Y are sometimes skills and, at worst, auras.

I can't even comprehend using the mouse wheel as a button. I'd keep zooming in and out, I think.

I'm terribly casual.

I use 23456 + LMB + RMB for skills. LMB for single target, RMB for AoE, 2 for movement the rest depends.

I sometimes set up the main attack on the left button and use shift when I attack. You do know you can disable mouse wheel zoom right? I had to.

If you do not have a Nostromo (or something similar) I would highly suggest trying one out. To me, it makes it even more casual because I can literally recline in my chair and I barley have to move my left hand....hell, I barely even move my fingers.

Disabling the mouse wheel would prevent me zooming in to admire myself. Not to mention I often play fully zoomed in. Because I can. :)

Well, another carryover from D2 is compulsive pinky-shifting. It's How Not To Die.

My setup is very similar across all my chars (and races too)

LMB - walk only
RMB - singletarget
WHEEL - disabled
W - some movement skill (leap slam, whirling) or curse
S - primary AOE
A - traps or movement skill
D - usually empty but sometimes a self casting spell or secondary AOE
Q - totem
F1 - /oos macro

That's funny because the only button I use almost constantly but still have to move my finger for is shift. I have it set up on my Nostromo so I have to move my pinky down and to the right to shift-click.....some habits die hard I guess.

My setup is always the same:

LMB: Single target skill
RMB: Aoe skill
Q: QQ (a.k.a. getaway) skill
W: WATAFUQOMGBBQISTHISDMG (a.k.a. enfeeble) curse
E: HAHAGOHITTHISYOUDUMMY (a.k.a. decoy totem) skill
R: YOUSUCKIJUSTNEEDTOKILLYOUQUICKLY (a.k.a. damage curse) curse
T: IHAVENOIDEAWTFIAMDOING (a.k.a. experimental skill like ek-trap, arc-trap/or functionality skill like blood rage/conversion trap) skill

Oh and middle mouse button is for auras (a.k.a. balanced stuff).

Left-click either auto attack or a single-target skill. Right-click goes my main AoE.
Other mouse button get's a support totem + aura activation.

Q is for my movement skills.
W for either single-target Vaal Skill or Curse.
E for either aoe Vaal Skill or Curse.
R for supportitive AoE skill.
T for emergency skills of any kind.

This is how I normally go. :P
