Social Interaction from Gaming
|
I get all the social interaction I need IRL in concrete jungle i live in. I work sales among other things, have employees, a couple GFs i see.. Nice to hermit up with my computer once in awhile. My favorite is close all the shutters and black out house turn phones off so I dont know if it day or night. sadly i can only do this 10-20 hrs a week.
OP dont go deer hunting. I've sat in a blind all day sometimes days not talking to anyone until we get back to camp at night. Face it different strokes. I'm very comfortable with intermittent social interaction. So are the trappers in Siberia who see no one for up to 6 months. http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1683876/ Notice they call them "the happy people" Git R Dun! Fusion, for an "expert in social interactions" [Removed by Support] You still do not understand the error of this topic was the presentation.
Rather than study the behavior of others, you ought to study and rethink your own... Bethesda is known for having good ideas and terrible realization of them. GGG is a Bethesda subsidiary or what? Last edited by Dan_GGG#0000 on Jun 11, 2014, 10:21:26 PM

" and I say again, it doesn't matter at all how well I presented it. You can't please everyone all the time and mean and nasty people tend to prey on well intentioned shit. It got derailed right out the gate and I had to sit here and defend my own personal character [Removed by Support]. I'm done. GGG please take this [Removed by Support] post down. I was so wrong about your community here. My bad. Last edited by FusionReactor#3376 on Jun 11, 2014, 10:41:19 PM

" You're about to be owned. First, "catching up to US cable internet" was never actually a thing. Sweden, Japan, Korea, Romania, The Netherlands, Latvia, Estonia and Switzerland. They have always been the pioneers of fast internet. The US have still not caught up to these big boys. The only thing US has caught up with are 2nd world countries like Russia, Bulgaria, Hungary, Ukraine and so on. During 2000-2010 these countries had much better internet infrastructure than the US. The BEST US consumer internet plans are WORSE than the WORST internet plans in south korea. The best internet plans in Japan, South Korea, Sweden, the Netherlands and Romania are TWENTY TIMES as fast as anything available to a consumer in the US. As for datacenter solutions, prices in the US are far far higher than the stuff available in Europe (France and Holland in particular). Second, it's not social. It's antisocial. There is no way to detect sarcasm on the internet, there is no way to see facial expressions, body language, voice intonation, no way to make eye contact, physical contact and so on and so on. It's interaction but far far far from social. And whether you like it or not, this is still against the norms in our society. i use a secret account because i am a politician that doesnt want the NSA to know i play poe.

I agree people do crave for social interaction ( my degree in psychology is currently on hold), but everyone also craves for that moment where we can finaly be alone. Its balance, no one wants to be 100% of the time surround by others, and no one wants to be alone 100% of the time (with a few personality disorders aside)
With that being said im a classic solo player. I have enough social interaction during my day (coworkers, friends, family and girlfriend) so that when im gaming i usually prefer to do it solo. While i agree that sometimes social interactions in games can make your gaming experience more meaningful, i prefer to do it solo most of the time. Its my way to reach that "balance" |

" All of those things while intended to connect people actually ended doing the very opposite. Real human contact becomes lost in ether and replaced with emoticons and 6 word textings. IGN: Arlianth
