Hyaon's Fury - Make it work!

Being in melee means you have to be tanky enough to "take a little beating".
With Hyaon's or without it.
With Hyaon's you maybe have to be a bit more tanky, because lifeleech isn't too great when you deal unlucky lower end damage. But this is really not that big of a deal (if you play a random crit build, it's the same: crits leech better than noncrits).
If you make use of frenzy charges, you have to be even more tanky, but...

...as I've written above: all three frenzy related lines can pretty much be ignored.
The life on kill is useless, the damage bonus is not really high (could have easily been a "more" multiplier or 24% per charge or a "local" roll (which is the same as a "more" multiplier)), the drawback is nasty.

=> Ignore it. Don't use frenzy charges. Still get a sword with ~400 elemental DpS.

It's nowhere near a BiS elemental onehander, but it doesn't have to be, it's a Unique.

And it is not the only Unique out there where half the stats get ignored, but that are still "worth it".

---

"Physical Weapons are better" is not an argument, obviously most melee skills and passives are designed for physical damage. That's why this weapon grants such high elemental damage, to counteract this. Sounds ok to me.

It's really not a good weapon for ele builds either, in any way shape or form

Whats the point of using this weapon if yo uwill ignore what makes it fun? It maybe not good, but at least it sound fun - was thinking of making a suicide dual-weild templar with them myself. But that does not mean it's a particulary good weapon.

I'm currently dealing 14000 Lightning DpS.
Considering my ~45% shock chance, you can double that number, and lightning resists are reduced by 67%, so that damage is real.

I'm straightup murdering whatever comes in my way with that sword (currently in the 74-77 map zone at lvl 84).

It works.

If I would play with frenzy charges, I would have to build a way more tanky tree to deal with the drawback. And I would have to take these frenzy charges.
That's just not worth it. I gain as much damage as I loose by modifying the tree, and I take more damage. Why would I do that?

How much dps do you lose if you remove your "elemental damage with weps" rings and amulet, just a rough estimate?
Nice thread, I'd suggest asking the man behind the sword who crafted this to help you out.

Here's where you can ask Hyaon personally: http://www.pathofexile.com/account/view-profile/Hyaon

Hope that helped you out! (≧▽≦)

I get 50% from two rings. 20% from shield, 28% from belt.
That's the gear part. Tree is another ~150%.
Spoiler

If I remove rings, shield and belt, I deal 10500 DpS, so this is ~4k DpS.

If I had 6 frenzy charges, I'd gain attackspeed and 72% increased damage, which would probably be another 4-5k DpS (that number however is theoretical as i would have to change the tree quite a bit).

if u don't use frenzy charges, hyaon will probably be sad panda =(
just off top of my head, dual wield lightning cyclone with life on hit light pen faster attacks and weapon ele

using the blood dance boots to generate charges, then have frenzy as a single target generator/dps on bosses

run wrath aura etc

im sure it synergises with some other uniques that would let you shock stack stuff really well etc

Cyclone has a base mana cost of 30 at level 1 (you'd actually probably even want to level it up as attack speed rises from nothing to +38%, so that's 36 mana).

Life on Hit 150%
Faster Attacks 115%
Lightning Pen 150%
Weapon Elemental damage 150%
(Probably Conc Effect as 6th? 150%, but -10% cost)

That's 36 * 1.5 * 1.15 * 1.5 * 1.5 = 139.725 mana per use.
If you add 20q conc effect, that's 189.

All of this has to be maintained with mana regen, and with mana regen alone.
With frenzy charges up, how many attacks per second will you have? How much mana will you need?

There's a reason why people often use Soultaker in Cyclone builds.
