How is that better? With the unique you can get (much much) higher crit (and not only spell crit). I kinda get that the base spell damage mod on regular rare shield can be higher but in your case for example that isn´t even the case.

Imagine a build that uses a trap with PCoC. Wouldn´t it be like a perpetomobile for power charges? Now imagine you skill just a little power charges and the spell_damage_per_powercharge. Still not as high from spelldamage but way higher in the crit sector while self sustaining the crit chance.

Well that´s what i thought when i looked at it from a theory craft perspective. No clue if that´s the case in the game.

Also, Jaws of Agony power charge proc is 15%. You seem to be under the impression that this shield is going to hand you power charges on a silver platter.

I think Jaws of Agony is a good shield for the right build, but you're jerking off to it too much when you don't understand anything.

The crit chance for spells on that shield is the highest I could find anywhere. I use it for a crit discharge build I run that deals out fuckloads of damage. You didn't ask for a shield that did what JoA does better, you asked for one with better spell crit/spell damage. And I showed it to you.

I doesn´t pretend anything. I already mentioned that spell damage as mod on rare shields are higher.

I don´t have the shield to test it but i believe the minimal 15% chance to get a power charge every time you throw a trap (btw does multitrap work with this?) will be sufficient to have max power charges as a trapping build all the time. Or like you said "jerking off to a shield that´s handing me power charges on a silver platter".

It was pretty clear what i meant. Your shield only provide 10% spell damage while JoA offers you a max of 28% trap damage. And the crit chance would be easily topped by just using traps with the shield equipped in my world. So i don´t know why you say your shield is better? Or do you mean because of the ES mods? If yes, you´re right, your shield provides more ES lol

On one hand I really loved the shield concept and how it can make a nice trap build, on the other hand I'm not really feeling like those power charges are really going to cut it...

I decided to try out using traps as soon as I got my jaws of agony, but even while spamming bear trap+fire trap+ conversion trap, it wasn't easy to keep 3 power charges. I believe it will be a lot easier with more traps, faster deployment time and longer power charge duration, but, even so, 15% seems so god damn low !!!


I really wish devs would either let those rolls be separate for multiple traps or increase the chance to 20 or 25% ... getting power charges with it is not reliable now
