Why is the economy on this game broken and how to solve it

bad reasoning, because the people constantly asking you bout stuff are noobs; i did this myself when i was new; ask a lot to get a feeling for prices (esp. since i didnt know about .xyz yet), while always trying to underbid in case i might get lucky. and obviously those noobs who ask you all the time are not wealthy. thus the reasoning is wrong that theres this poor or extremely wealthy wealth distribution because the people asking you are not a fair sample of the total player population (but mainly noobs).
I personally like the economy. Although I don't often sell items; the economy provides me with an access point to mid-high tiered gear, which I wouldn't otherwise obtain if I were to spend currency crafting.
IGN: Flickerdart
People in this game are so greedy.
I don't even get what kind of people ask 5-10 chaos for a leveling item.
I won't be even using that after maybe 10 levels why the fuck would I waste my precious 5 chaos in that item... It's not like 1000 chaos sitting in my stash...
Nothing is more common than unsuccessful men with talent.

I can't sell any of my good rare items.

People only lowball on everything because they haven´t got any money to afford things. It's my third day on a row people asking for the same rare good items I have and when I say the fair price for them they say they can't afford it. It's either people has ZERO money or they have mirrors .... what the fuck is going on here, GGG please fix this situation. It's ridiculous.

How would you solve this ? I know you can't increase the drop rate of currency because the already mined of bots game would only get richer, so ... what are you going to do ? The only way to make cash on this game is to play until you get a Shavs or a Mjolner. Wich is a 0,1% right now.

It's very unfair that there are dozens of already commercial bot applications for PoE that people is using and Whirling blades still desync ! It almost stop making sense that you make a game around trading but you can't even sell what you find ! It's frustrating.

Your prices are shit high which is why they dont buy your stuff. There will always be other sellers who will sell lower than your price.

so you wouldn't say that prices are falling in ambush and standard? That 90% of the players are poor and 5%are rich... but the missing 5% can't sell anything to the poor, as they can't afford items which are over 5ex and rich don't need to buy anything, as they already have "everything"...

and sure I could flip stuff around and 5-link stuff and earn my currency with 1-2ex trades, but I prefer playing the game ;)

So what? Clearly sounds like there is a solution:
Reduce prices so your customers can afford shit.

It's not like this is a new concept.
Reduce prices to sell more frequent.
Find the balance between price and sell frequency.

Also prices on xyz do not always reflect in-game prices. I heard several times that xyz is expensive as fuck and that you can get away more cheap if you barter in trade chat.

The lowest prices on xyz are often (but not always) slightly above the actual price point of the item. This is because you are searching the items which have not sold (yet), not the ones which are confirmed sellers.

I wouldn't exactly call that "expensive as fuck," though. Slightly overpriced is usually a more fair appraisal — and I do mean only slightly.
When Stephen Colbert was killed by HYDRA's Project Insight in 2014, the comedy world lost a hero. Since his life model decoy isn't up to the task, please do not mistake my performance as political discussion. I'm just doing what Steve would have wanted.

When haggling is an option, overpricing is common since offers will always come in lower. Basically building in the under bid as part of the asking price. Like buying a car, NEVER pay the sticker price. It's natural part of the system.
Thanks for all the fish!
