Yeah the item is sooo good that if it is not 5 or 6 linked it costs a huge 1-3 chaos orbs.

The draw back vastly out weighs the benefits.

Drawback?
Plan your build for it
I use 5l infernal mantle with 3 auras.
Mana reserve? 64% (and RM not yet lvl 20)
Mana regen around 200 iirc; so it's not hard to not be on low mana
Remember, suffering is convenient.
That is why many people prefer it.
Happiness requires effort.
Low mana is below 35%

Just build around it. I did and I seem to not be taking a lot of damage.

Get block, spell block, elemental adaptation any other +max % elemental purity of fire ice lightning, tempest shield if need more block.
Have like 95% elemental resist. A lot of mana regen.

I run mom and aa. And never fall below 35% most of the time. And if I do. High elemental resist and spell block will do the trick.

Thanks for the correction, it was german :) and yes 5l 3c thats the worth, if you pay more then its your decision. By the way i got two of them 5l and 1 6l. And nobody will pay me more then a few chaos for this item.

Then maybe your not doing a good job of trying to sell it. The market might be low for the item but its still worth more than 3 chaos. If a unique is used like infernal mantel then its going to be worth a lot more 5Led. Thats just common sense.

No, it really doesn't. Maybe on the hardcore leagues its not worth the extra damage, but if you build for it the item works just fine.

i didn't see anything lower then 1 ex on poe.xyz, the 6l that i wanted cost 33 ex...

dude if it was 3 chaos then i would have no problem since the cost and the payout equal, but for 1 ex and higher this item worth shit !

that what i said! GGG need to look on this item, to make sure the cost and the worth equal.

Again, you have said absolutely nothing to show that its a bad item. You admitted to misinterpreting what it does. Thats your fault, not the item.

Wait, you spent all your currency on this but think you could have afforded a Shavronne's instead? The only reason this item has the stigma of being not great is because there is another item of the same type that's one of the best in the game.

It's not the item that's bad. It's your character. I used this item for a Flameblast witch in Domination that made it to level 81 I think. The downside of this Armour is not bad at all. I used a Saffell's Frame shield (spell block and max resists). I used all the purity auras (max resists). I was always on low mana and used a mid range Arctic Armour (didn't have regen for higher level one). Reflect never hurt me. Spell Damage hurt once in a while, but the vast majority of spells are elemental damage, so having 87% all resists completely eliminated the double damage and more. Ethereal Knives, Bear Traps, Evangelists, and physical attacks were the only thing I had to worry about, which most of the time wasn't a problem. I didn't try to face tank anything and killed everything from a distance.

Tl;dr, OP, you need to learn to play instead of whining about a unique that you think is bad. Frankly, that unique kicks ass!

u all didn't convince me it worth it, but since there is so much ppl that think its worth something, i will sell u guys this one for half of the price i bought it... the first one that contect me in game will get it.
The drawback is certainly harder to work with after the aura change, but it's far from useless, and it's really good once you can beat it. Blood Magic's an option, but Mana Leeched Incinerate is possibly the best use for it at the moment. My build runs two auras, Arctic Armor and MoM and I'm pretty much always on full mana.

And its not the greatest colors, but what did you pay for it? Might be useful to me.

i paid 4 ex, i will sell for 2.
Did you corrupt or did you buy it that way? If you bought it that way, you definitely overpaid. Now the socket colors are fixed so it's worth a lot less. Better to buy a cheap one and socket and link it yourself.
