whats the point of VP when acuity exists?

Acuity price on standart is 100-150 ex and continue dropping, so OP is somewhat right, on the other hand you do not have those gloves right after league starts so its "end-game" item. Not to mention it is not obvious if Atziri going to re-appear in next league or become legacy.

its extremely dissapointing to see an item essentially have a version of a keystone superior to the passive tree version in every way, especially since the passive tree is what is meant to make PoE special, not the gear.


Either VP needs a buff or the gloves need a nerf. These gloves are against the fundamentals of this game, far worse for gameplay than angelic wings are for graphics.

This guy has some impressions about the game. It's purpose in life. Standards they (GGG) are trying to base their game on.

He is trying to paint the picture how he sees the game and how the gloves destroy everything he believes about GGG.

And he does not like that, because he thought GGG are the nice guys who are trying to stick with some standards and not do stuff like that.

So tell him to be patient, that GGG learns from their mistakes and that actually his post is one of many that helps with that.
Or tell him that he had misunderstood the game concept and GGG standards and that he should drop his believes about GGG.

Or explain how the gloves fit in the concept he believes PoE has and is about.

Do not pick point and try to explain single things he mention while trying to express his disappointment.

I bet he knew all the things all of you have written here so far before he made his post.

The gloves are rediculous,they feel almost like you have a soul taker and they make VP completely useless,merely a leveling keystone.That's obviously bad design,and everyone saw it the moment they got implemented on game.

For me i can see few reasons of the addition of this item:

1)Intented to get removed after 4 month leagues end,and being that way from the start,so more legacy items

2)Intented to buff vaal pact,so the gloves are not a straight up better choice,and having the initial nerf so high,so people would have a dream item to make them play alot.

3)Propably nerf it somehow,more legacy items,and not intented from the start,so bad design from the start which led to imbalances

4)Intend to make it super rare.Say something like Uber atziri not having guaranteed unique drops,but she drops uniques at the same ratio normal atziri drops uber fragments,and the gloves being the equvalent of mortal hope.


All in all i beleive that instead of nerfing VP which was pretty good and balanced for crit melee and bow builds,to have adressed over powered skills,unless,as i said,it was their strategy to introduce a dream item for 4 months,to get people to grind like crazy

It's fairly safe to play as if the Atziri (Uber or otherwise) items don't actually exist.
Why do you guys assume every character is a crit build? Nobody that uses Resolute Technique would get any leech from those gloves. Nobody using skills that don't crit like Incinerate would get leech from those gloves. Non crit builds might get some leech from those gloves, but Vaal Pact would be on every hit, not just one in 5 if you had 20% crit chance (which is high for a non-crit build). How many summoners would use those gloves? How many dual-totem builds would use those gloves? You'd need high accuracy to go along with high crit chance to get the most out of those gloves. I don't think that's very many builds.

Somebody said something about reflect. Those gloves wouldn't save you from reflect if you can't survive a single reflect hit. Leech happens before the reflect.

Because very very very few none crit builds deal high enough damage,for the nerfed vaal pact worth taking.I do not nesceserily beleive that the gloves are a badly designed item.I beleive the VP nerf was a badly designed nerf.

Also i ve shared that opinion a hundred times so far,but isntead of gating atziri content,making the items mostly RMT food,they should just made the content available,through having guaranteed fragments on every corrupt area,and having atziri have a guaranteed uber fragment drop rate,all with equal chances,but at the same time,making all fragments and uber atziri uniques acount bound.

Buff vaal pact to its original 100% effectiveness.

Increase the reflected damage from critical strikes. Let's say 36% damage reflected on critical strikes instead of 18%. Or maybe add a stat to the atziri gloves that makes it so you take reflected damage every time you crit.

Pretty much. I mean, Atziri is meant to be like the final boss fight of the game.
GGGs philosophy around problems like power creep sounds like this won't change that fast.
They also hinted that the next expansion will target early-mid game more.

What do you want this power for anyway after that point?
Flying through the already at this point easy content?

And even if there will be new, harder content: Is it that wrong to let people have their reward for their have time investment, be it acquiring this gloves in the fight or through trade?
