Only 3? Man, gonna be difficult . . .
In no particular order: Diablo 2 -- Aside from MMOs, D2 is one of the games I put the most playtime into. It (and its clones) are the very definition of "digital crack." Strange thing for me was that I HATED Diablo 1. The controls and difficulty level made it (at the time) unplayable, so I was kind of surprised that I took to D2 like I did. Minecraft -- From a return of entertainment value on investment standpoint, it may be impossible to top Minecraft. It is a true sandbox game in every aspect of the genre. Although it is somewhat limited, you can do an awful lot in that game if you have a healthy imagination. God of War series -- Sorry, I can't single one of the three out. Showed me the greatness console gaming is truly capable of. Everything about the series displays what a talented development house can accomplish (I'm lookin' at you, Sony Santa Monica). At first, the game was not even on my radar, despite rave reviews and positive word of mouth. I broke down one day and bought it. Rest is history. Honorable Mentions: Mass Effect series -- Doesn't hold quite the same place in my mind as God of War, but damn near. Sunk so many hours and playthroughs into ME1 and 2, and will most likely do the same for 3. I even (shamefully) skipped work days to play ME2 instead, heh. EverQuest 1 & 2 -- Both games will always have an honorable spot in my mind (especially EQ2). Through the good and bad of online gaming, through my straying to other MMOs, I always came back to the EQ series. For better or worse, both ships have sailed at this point, unlikely to return. Tried to get into WoW on several occasions (and I gave it a fair try, I really did), but it just lacked that something for me that EQ had. Titan Quest -- See Diablo 2 above. It's kinda funny too: an old co-worker of mine and I during my GameStop days were mocking the generic title of TQ before it launched. On a whim, I picked it up, and decided it was everything I loved (and more) about Diablo 2. D2 only beats it out (VERY narrowly) because D2 got to me first. There are, of course, many other games that I have played that I really enjoyed, but it would be a huge list. |

any type or ??
1) Age of Empire 1 (it was the first RTS i had ever seen! it has never been the same since) 2) Sacred (haven't played Diablo (was too damn young when it came out) so it was the first hack and slash game i plaeyd, and the idea of different characters starting in different areas was just mind blowing to little me back then) 3) StarCraft/Stronghlold (and not because i played it competitively, cos i didn't! but because of all the days i spent in the world editor making my own stories as i was putting new stuff/deleting the old as the story progressed) | |
In no particular order
Mass Effect Series (can't wait for the 3rd game) The Legend Of Zelda Series Voyage Century Online (my favorite mmo P2P/F2P ever, even though they ruined it) If i didn't have bad luck, i wouldn't have any luck at all.
