I LIKE PASSIVE SKILL RESETS!

Zoinks!

Some people donated solely because this game doesn't have a full respec? *Looks skeptical* Also, you can't claim "case closed" when it is clearly still being debated.

Personally, I do not want a full respec. I enjoy having consequences for my decisions or lack of knowledge. But there are downsides to this as well, the most notable being less diversity and power levelling. However, correlation does not equal causation. Other factors decrease diversity as well such as lack of balance.

It is being reiterated that this is a niche game for a niche of players. You could turn around and say that players wanting a full respec are a niche. I see the other side of the coin and why players would like a respec. In the end this will be a dev decision and I will continue to play regardless. If you want to offer feedback and discuss the alternatives - make them constructive; not shallow statements of opinion as if they are fact.

Disclaimers such as "I'll quit" are always white lies; and wanting a respec does not make someone a 'noob'.

The monster, Diablo 2, did not have any respecs until 10 years after its release. Even then you were limited to only 3 respecs per character, one respec per difficulty.

I want to say something - games were better when devs didn't listen to player feedback.

DO WE SERIOUSLY NEED THESE TOPIC EVERY FUCKING DAY!? please mods, make a sticky so these guys can rant to their graves.

I disagree; this can be both good and bad. My all time favourite game is Ultima Online. The game was amazing. A lot of the content that made it exciting were player run events and wars. The devs incorporated a lot of player suggestions which improved the fun factor quite a bit. Then the devs added non-pvp lands and I believe the game went downhill.

So, player feedback implemented was both good and bad.

Welcome to public forums - where people constantly discuss hot topics. If it wasnt respecs it would be balance issues or some other item. Remember... discussion is healthy.

Is it healthy when these topics are daily, each get 100+ replies, and the devs told before they like having no full respecs?

So instead of some interesting suggestiongs , the forums is filled up with these repetitive ones, when we could have 1 sticky topic.

No, Diablo 2 has unlimited respecs with the tokens, they are tradeable too.

I disagree with your metaphor though. Adding respecing is nothing like changing the type of restaurant. It would be more like saying the Italian restaurant has changed their menu or removed one of your favourite dishes.

Well, you're free to disagree of course, but I disagree with you too. This game's main concept is based around the synergy between the passive skill tree, use of skill gems, and choice of items to go with that. Planning how to combine these three aspects in a long term outlook is the very core of this game. Adding a respec feature would significantly alter the entire system and thus make it a completely different game.

haha that sounds pretty picky. If people are correct and the free respec points and orbs of regret fall from the trees then it sounds like this might not be the game for you O.o

If its hot enough to get 100 replies everyday, then there is obvious interest both for and against. That deserves a thread. Nothing is exactly "filling up the form" plenty of different topics flowing through the first few pages.
