Map fee scam.

Chaining maps lvl 78 in Invasion, without the need to roll them (15+ Chaos per map) and no worry about maps drops. I'm happy to pay 2 Chaos for that.

You've misunderstood.

When you pay those 2 Chaos orbs and the "map host" leaves, that scam. All fruit of this amazing map system.

20:1, what are you talking about? Whats the 1?

20:1 fusings/alchs/etc.

Do you even play this game? Its a pretty common trading ratio.

And FYI for 16 alts you can craft a fusing with a few mouse clicks, which is why 20:1 is a scam. Even if I had 20000 alts I would craft them all into fusings before I'd give someone a 20:1 rate on them.

Yes i play the game but not the trading game. Good for you to know how to get fusings but it isnt more of a scam as say the cake costs 10 dollars in one store and 15 in the other. Price differences are not scams.
Well yeah but in this case the price difference is with the vendor, so if you have ever checked the price for Clarissa's fusings you will never accept this ratio.
Offering currency trades for bad rates is hardly a scam, there's no dishonesty or trickery involved.
You're right about the rates, although insisting that this is the real price is a little dishonest IMO (I recently had a guy try to buy a piece I had for 1c (the real value is around 8c) then for 2c, insisting that this is a very high price and I should accept etc. )

I'm interested in how the map fees work, how can you make sure neither party is scammed (for lack of a better word) ? Either you pay and hope the owner invites you to the map, or you open your map and hope the "buyer" pays your fee, no ?
Swapping chaos for exalts. They are the same color and after many hours of playing you might get tricked. I traded 50 chaos for 2 chaos a while back. Dumb mistake on my part but always doable check your trades.

Anytime someone asks you for something with a promise to do something later, you can pretty safely bet that you're being scammed.

I will gladly pay you on Tuesday for a hamburger today.

Even if i would, what do you or anyone else care? Its still not a scam. If Nessa sold orbs and sold a chisel for a chaos and clarissa sells them for 2 chaos, are the vendors scamming you?
How to find a scam in PoE:

Step 1) Open any trade chat channel

Step 2) Read trade chat

99% of all trade chat messages are ripoffs trying to prey on noobs who don't know exchange rates. It makes the honest people buying currencies impossible to find by the people selling currencies. I had to spam for 20 min to find someone willing to sell me scourings for 2:1 chaos when everyone else is flooding the channel with "WTB scouring 3:1 chaos"

Protip: if someone is spamming every trade channel trying to buy "all your currencies" at certain rates all day, that person is just ripping off noobs for profit. Don't sell to them.

Protip: Just post "WTB Scouring 2:1 Chaos" on the noticeboard, it should take less than 3 minutes to get a seller.
GGG banning all political discussion shortly after getting acquired by China is a weird coincidence.
