Only lotteries ? Is not there any other type of scam on the game ?

You can google for Lineage\WoW "scam" list, it will be similar. Or any other MMO. There is nothing new in PoE, just human psychology and social engineering (btw, "scam" is not suitable word; these situations best to be called "greed" and\or "own stupidity" etc) Simple examples are: 1) Give "X" to me, i want to try it\look how it fits\etc 2) simpliest phishing site like "enter you log\pass to get 1000 ingame gold" (yet people still fall for it) 3) OR e-mail "from administrator\GM" etc etc Real "scam" is different. It's a considered and thought-out "trick". Not just a simple fraud Remember, suffering is convenient. That is why many people prefer it. Happiness requires effort. GGG banning all political discussion shortly after getting acquired by China is a weird coincidence.

Anytime someone asks you for something with a promise to do something later, you can pretty safely bet that you're being scammed.

If you think lotteries are a scam you deserve to get scammed seriously. If there is nothing or not what you wanted in the trade window then you dont do the trade. Anything else is just being stupid.

All scams in PoE fall in one of two categories:
1) "If it sounds too good to be true, it probably is." 2) "I was supposed to benefit from this, not the other guy!" No one can "scam" you in PoE unless you allow it to happen, and usually it's because the victim thinks the other person is naive or stupid, or because of greed and wanting to take a shortcut. | |
