GGG please make these two keys

please make a key to /oos

and a key to exit to character selection.

escaping the fight and aligning the game up are two things everyone does, and we shouldn't have to be nerds and create macros to do these things.

i have a logitech keyboard with G keys and could make the stuff myself pretty easy but honestly... i say it's yer job not mine.

but since i doubt yer gonna do yer job on this any time soon cuz you have like 80 million other things on your to do list, i'll have to be a nerd i guess, and do it myself.

yes mod you can move my thread now.

and yes self find item players have more fun than "gee my friend gave me my armor, another guildy gave my rings, i bought 2 max gems for my build, etc etc and i just killed atziri, yesssss !!!"... like steroid users proud of their accomplishments.

/oos key

/getmethehellouttahere key

thanks.

ps... i'm glad yer finally fixing ground slam... watching ground slam float in the air, and the same exact pattern over and over and....

wait... i really hope it isn't still the same pattern over and over and over....

but hey, it's free so i won't complain

Hey there,

Thank you for the feedback.

We request that you do not make a macro that exits you to the character selection screen, as this performs too many actions.

You are welcome to make a macro for /oos, however.

Chris himself has ok'd exit macros in the past. Has there been a change in policy?

There is a difference between a macro that just emulates ALT-F4 and a macro that opens the exit dialog and selects 'exit to character selection' for you.
An exit macro (ALT+F4) closes the game and does not exit you to the character screen. Macros that do need several mouse and keyboard actions, which are against the TOS.

It's fine to have a button that causes /oos, or /remaining or casts an aura, but having a timer to repeat actions or a macro to cast all your auras is not allowed. This is because these are things that normal players cannot do, so they give advantages in terms of playing speed."

On the other hand this quote menas that trade macros are legal IF they are not fully automated, leaving a wide open grey area.
E.g. one button to switch through trade channels, another button to manually post your trade message. Even trade macros that would use stash tab positions like poe.xyz.is does, should be legal.

Futermore one could argue that a trade macro doesn't provide any advantages in terms of playing speed.

We really need clarification.

Hey there,

Technically the actions needed to return to character screen would fall under the 'multiple actions' clause. however we're checking to see if Chris has made an exception for this scenario, and we will try and get clarification for you guys.

Sounds to me like that is 1 action...

I believe there was even a guy with a macro to set town portals and he was allowed...

In that case even /oos would be multiple actions (opening chat, typing /oos, hitting Enter...).

There's 1 button to "exit to login screen", there's not 3 buttons to click.

ggg define 'action' please!

------

ggg has a flawed logic, /oos macro actually consists of more actions:

- pressing enter (to open chat)
- pressing / key
- pressing o key
- pressing o key
- pressing s key
- pressing enter

they are in a tricky situation, they should ad an ingame key / shortcut for /oos and completely ban all macros, not that i would want this to happen though

another thing is that they haven't even officially decided on this amongthemselves, hence the confusion

How about randomizing the position of the buttons when the ESC key is pressed, wouldn't that disable auto-hotkey logouts and force players to think further ahead when in tight situations? Or they would have to just alt-F4 , but then would have to go through the wait process of loading up the game again.
Hey there,

Apologies. Chris has confirmed that the '/oos' and 'logout/character select screen' macros are current exceptions to the 'multiple actions' rule. The macros suggested by the op are allowed.
