GGG: Thank you for not treating us like this (no reply needed- just wanted you guys to see this)

Synopsis: For the past month or so, this company promised a special wing effect in game, for anyone who preordered. Their advertising across their websites proudly marked this amazing feat of in game customization. "Early this afternoon, we ran a special script to award eligible players who have digitally prepurchased some game their Wings of Valor. This script completed this afternoon around approximately 5:00 pm PT. Shortly after this script was run, we uncovered an issue that affected the delivery of the Wings of Valor for certain players" The issue was... every single player who had preordered before *TODAY*- the date it was supposed to become available, were NOT able to get their microtrans when it was promised. While anyone who ordered today would receive their bonus right away (frustrating people who had the faith to preorder much earlier). Now, they effectively didn't communicate anything about this to the playerbase, until they were heading home for the day, many hours after they knew the problem existed, and exacerbated it by telling the players there would likely be no resolution until the next day, at a minimum. "We don’ t yet have an exact ETA to share for when [this] will be delivered, but we’ll be sure to provide an update in this thread as soon as we do" And ended with a fairly hollow apology, to everyone who'd already preordered their game. "We sincerely apologize for this inconvenience and will be sure to keep everyone updated as we work to get you your sparkly spoils" I just wanted to contrast that with how you guys handled this: http://www.pathofexile.com/forum/view-thread/849236 (the server downtime), and thank you for keeping your players to heart, and not taking us for granted like certain other companies do. Please continue to care about your game, and your consumers that much, GGG, because I am SURE it will give you a following like Blizzard used to have, in the long run. I don't care if people see this as a fanboy post- because the truth of the matter is- that other company showed total disregard for its customers, and as far as I've seen lately, GGG is trying to do the complete opposite. Thank you, guys. VI |

If anything like this happened in PoE Jonathan would probably commit sudoku. Twice.
GGG banning all political discussion shortly after getting acquired by China is a weird coincidence.

" I think you mean tamagotchi. I'm a forum warrior, i was born to post, raised to defend my league. Now my post has been removed, chained and exiled by mods who Ban. Ban is my brother; i do not fear it. I see it in the eyes of men and beasts that i troll. It will take me to play the actual game when i am ready and i am not ready.

I am quite sure that the GGG crew works way more efficient than the Blizzard crew. This might all be due to motivation, but I find updating patching things in Blizzard games quite lackluster.
1. Technical issues can go for days to a week. 2. Easy to fix bugs that break the game experience can linger up to a month. 3. Actually balancing and properly patching the game will take up several months. 4. Bad communication towards their customers. 4. Big content updates only come with payment, every little thing one could purchase in game comes at ridiculous prices. (From someone that things many things in PoE are a bit overpriced, or that there is a lack of quantity in quality low prices transactions, that should bring in mass low threshold customers. Use to think expensive exclusive content lacked (1st bunch of mtx at launch), now it is vice versa). In PoE we had (and have) weekly and bi-weekly content updates. We have logs and communication on issues, small hotfix patches and the free to play big content patches every 4 months or so, not mentioning what basically are free game expansions roughly each year. All that with a far smaller starting budget and a far smaller team or access to available talent. (I mean in terms of graphics, engine and a few other things you can see who has the bigger budget to throw around). This tells me that either Blizzard is a total mess on the inside or more likely very few of their employees are actually motivated workers or employees that enjoy their work. I am kind of leaning towards the latter as you hear about a constant stream of developers leaving Blizzard when once they raked up the experience. |

" Err, Blizzard have a much bigger following than ever before and with reaper of souls, legacy of the void, warlords of draenor and heroes of the storm on the way I'm guessing they will grow further. They informed everyone their pixels will be a bit late, what do you want them to do? Its a technical issue, not the end of the world. Typical overdramatic Blizzard bashing. You can enjoy other companies games as well as path of exile. I'll be playing ROS along with POE. |
