Invasion players - no need to bash Standard Players
" I have a career (although i dont like my work :D). I have a beautiful home (yay!). I have a wife. Thank god no children. I always played hc and will always play hc. What was your Point? Last edited by Partypapst#3836 on Mar 18, 2014, 12:13:24 PM

" well if you only consider the aspect of not dying because of your tree, reflexes to hit alt-f4,i guess so.but i dont think that the core concept of the game only revolves around that? ign:JaqenHghar

Why would the better skilled people necessarily play hardcore ? There is litterally nothing to gain from playing hardcore instead of standard, except the ability to show off.

" umm i think it was pretty obvious what he was trying to say?that he has many more personal commitments outside of the game and hence cannot play and practice as long as you probably could to be more adept for hardcore ign:JaqenHghar

" this should be common knowledge, but I guess it's not. Someone who is playing in a hardcore league is not forced to alt f4 to avoid death, but someone playing in standard is someone who cannot make it in the hardcore leagues. That's a fact. and I'm about to blow your mind, so get ready
Spoiler
people in standard leagues can altf4 out too
" better economy and arguably better playerbase. Last edited by Brelm#2523 on Mar 18, 2014, 12:15:56 PM

" Just because you think the deliberate choice of permadeath is an objective attribute does not make it one. You have no actual argument and go ad hominem now, it is what they always do. Amusing ;) You would have to define an objective terminology for "skill" and you simply cannot do that. At least not in such a one dimensional way as you as a hardcore player wish. The ability to click a little better/faster than someone else or to choose some tankier nodes on the skill tree are not sufficient here. They are rather anecdotal if anything, but probably not relevant at all. I would argue that the efficiency is a much bigger part of skill as it actually asks for intelligence and not just reaction (but if you wish we can weigh those 50/50). And if we start to measure that you will see immediatly that softcore players chose the way of less resistance thus making their efficiency bigger. So they are the ones with the skill. Fascinating, now isn't it? :P P.S.: All of that aside some of the most skilled players in terms of reaction probably play softcore because they do not like permadeath. You completely leave those out too. I for one do not like losing my progress although I might be able to fare rather well in hardcore. I simply have no wish to. P.P.S.: Those that think POE is actually hardcore are cute btw. Try some actual permadeath games for a change. This one is a permadeath game where you can get a char back up in 3 days or so and also you never truly lose your character anyway. True permadeath is stuff like the oldschool MMOs where you lost months and years of progress in a heartbeat. |

That's not a fact, I don't see how someone playing standard is someone who cannot make it in the hardcore league, they cant just choose not to play hc because they'd rather have a char not too focused on life etc, doesn't mean they can't play hc.

" Again: No it is not. I could be the best and most professional POE player ever that lets Etup, Nugi, Kripp and the top 100 of all hardcore ladders combined look like toddlers hammering on their keyboard. If I personally prefer to play softcore I will do that. The end. Why do you think you can read everyone's mind? Not everyone is super desperate to prove something..to whomever, in a computergame. The only difference between standard and hardcore is how fast you can quite the game or how well you can borrow and implement somebody else's macros. Bunch of hypocrites.

" what makes you even think that? if they were truly the most skilled players, they'd be playing in the only league that matters. What could possibly make you think this? [Removed by Support] you're throwing out wild guesses with absolutely no fact to back them up Last edited by Kieren_GGG#0000 on Mar 18, 2014, 1:10:09 PM
