Invasion players - no need to bash Standard Players

So sick of reading the [Removed by Support] comments. Every game, every new league, every accomplishment bashed by the gaming elite.

If you have the time and patience for to play in a hardcore league, I am happy for you and a bit jealous. When I was single with no kids I could play for 8 hours a day while working and commuting 60 hours a week. I had plenty of level 92+ Ladder Characters in Diablo 2. I am sure there are plenty like me who love ARP's even though we are older with less time to devote to pixels these days.

Now, I am 43 with a wife, 2 kids, a more than full time job and a house to take care of. I am far from lazy but just do not have the time to power level characters or grind for 8+ hours per day.

I have a level 82, 83 and 88 in standard besides countless level 30-50's. Some weeks I play for 30 hours, some weeks, not at all. Standard allows me to slowly build and gear a character to meet all the challenges the game has to offer. I can put in the same thousand hours as any of you, it may just take me much longer IRL than those of you who do not have my responsibilities or live with your parents.

I find it interesting that a great many Hardcore players look down on people like me. We play [Removed by Support]. We are lazy. We are bad players.

I have a career. I have a beautiful home and a great family. Nothing was given to me and I think I am doing pretty well in the game of life.

My record is sound. I have been a member of several strong raiding guilds in various games. My skills are strong (although eroding slowly) and my theory craft on point. There are many others who are in the same boat as I. Perhaps this will give you some perspective so we can avoid some of the derogatory posts directed towards Standard play.

It's a loud minority that bashes other people for preferring another gamemode. It's really not worth paying attention to.

Some others just use [Removed by Support] comments in humor while loving leagues like domination/ambush.

The real question is why do people care?

The entire reason why the insult exists because people care, if nobody found it insulting then smart-asses/trolls wouldn't feel the need to bring it up to people.

It's the same with people calling hardcore alt-f4 league or something.

I mean if it's suppose to be humorous sure but league bashing in PoE is one of the most dumbest things I've seen.

This is an issue of moderation, to me.

Anyone using the term scrubcore in anything other than an ironic manner should be probated.

Don't pay attention to the people with the inferiority complex and the outright assholes.

Are you having fun in standard? If you are then that's all that really matters. I've been playing invasion but I got bored with that and switched to ambush. I wouldn't pay attention to people that insult an entire league that's like insulting people that enjoy theatre just because you don't. ZOMG movies are so much more hardcore they got special effects and stuff!

As a side note though I would recommend you try ambush if you are thinking of starting a new character, the loot is crazy and the boxes add an interesting twist.

That's one thing makes this game so great though is we all have so many choices, it fits a bunch of different styles of gaming and that's a credit to the game makers to realize "X-league" isn't best for everyone. I guarantee you different people at GGG enjoy different leagues and play styles.

the hate about standard league/players is sometime very disappointing here on the forum but the most important thing is that you should play in leagues where you have fun no matter what others said.
