Yes it is. And no amount of hipster memes is going to make it any different. Alt F4 is NOT an PoE feature, it's only left in so the embarrassment they call hardcore can still be played. This thread proves if you play the game how it's supposed to be played you'll be punished.
No, it's not. Alt+F4 might not be a PoE feature, but instant logout is and that's the only thing that matters. As a matter of fact, hitting esc and clicking 'exit game' is actually faster than hitting Alt+F4. Alt+F4 is for amateurs.

Exit game is the same as alt-f4. Exit to login seems to be the fastest.

That's the casual way of playing. Path of Exile is a hardcore game.
Actually, blinding cowardice is more typical of hardcore games. Manmode is more of a casual thing. Hardcore games are often about judgement and mastery- knowing what fights to avoid.
