is RNG really just RNG?

Dear Diary,

I came across a fellow, we started talking because we both have the seraph armor set and spirit charm, he was the exact same level and just got into merc.


This guy had infinitely better luck than me, not only was he decked out when I showed him my gear, he felt sorry for me and offered me items and uniques, I respectfully declined, but he wanted to help me out still, he said he would grind with me and help me levelup. Sent me a friend request and we kept talking.

This was his first character in the new league so he was in the same boat as I am but he just had better drops. I mean his weapon at the moment was a near perfect 6 slot 5 link Terminus est, he said his dps is 13k for ST and he said he wasnt fully geared yet, mind you we are lvl 56 A1 merc.

We go into mud flats and I'm barely making a dent on mobs, whereas he is pretty much on shotting everything. We clear mud flats and I'm amazed at all the gear we find. I got a full bag of yellows, 5 chisels, 2 jews, 2 alts, 2 augs and a 6 slot chest piece. What in the world?

RNG why do you hate me? I never get that kind of drops by myself. *note he took his items too

EDIT: HEY!! They guy I meet posted in here! PAGE 5, but, I mixed up his damages he had 14k Double strike and 3K ST.

It's the exponential factor.You find a good DPS weapon early on and then your killing stuff faster therefore accumulating wealth faster (in theory).Just using a faster skill can set you off on that road so you don't even need luck just good idea of fast killing builds.

It can be an illusion more stuff is dropping when in fact your just killing faster.

I am beginning to think that the RNG is set up based on random seed taken from Your accountname or Something Like that.

Certainly would explain why I Never have good luck while my friend has astronomical luck. If This is the case I'm permanently screwed... Though, I do have astronomical luck With chromatic drops not that won't help me much when I don't find fuses nor jewellers...
People say RNG but its really in fact RMoNG
Random manipulated odds numbers generator or popularely called : not so random rng

nothing in the game is on equal footing to be generated

Sockets even have a patern i think, when i have 2+ sockets/link and i put 1 more jeweler/fuse in, i get 1 socket, each damn time which is why i only use armourer in 1 socket and 1 link items.

Unique items drops is manipulated

items mod are also manipulated

Rogues/shrine/box are also manipulated which is why i always fall on a fucking Thena Morga a fucking impenetrable shrine and chemist box

i think the worst case are unique items

they are accumulative, if it was RNG it would be, in a1n there are 15 unique items that can drop , each with the same probability, in a2n there are 15 more which we add the 15 first of a1n which makes 30 with equal chance. But nope each unique have their own probability to roll and you add the accumulative effect done like ( a1n+a1n+a2n+a1n+a2n+a3n+...) which lead to : mapping 70+ maps and getting a shitload of

What you need to understand about randomness is that it's naturally extremely streaky.

When we think about random we tend to imagine very regular patterns, kinda like a sine wave. Ups and downs with regular intervals. You win some, you lose some, mentality.

But that's not how random works though. There's no rules to random, no patterns, it doesn't give you wins after you lose again and again and again and again. Nor does it give you losses after you win again and again and again and again.

Good post. Also it doesn't help that the human brain searches for patterns in everything. That's why there's a couple of tinfoilers out there regarding RNG :D
GGG banning all political discussion shortly after getting acquired by China is a weird coincidence.
Uh.. no I wear my tinfoil because its stylish..
behind the rng is quota for the amount of maps and drops youre allowed to have within a finite amount of time.
