one thing that really makes me nervous is that i have a short freeze ingame before the disconnect and then my monitor has 1-2 seconds without a signal.

while i am posting this my pc is hanging even in chrome.

also i had another "desktop... doesnt work" message related to the PoE chrashs.

i would like to play PoE again. but dont like the possibillity PoE crashs my whole system + hardware.

many more crashes!!!

nvidia driver: 334.89
there must be some severe issue with the 780 GTX (in combination with the driver?)

i am really afraid those crashes will ruin/harm my hardware.

anyone with similar hardware have those crashes?

Pack Check was ok!

GGPK Defrag was about 1300 MB

played after that still crashed.

in one corrupted area there was:
freeze - no signal - game again but imidiate the next freeze - no signal and then the login
i logged back in, party opens a port, again the corrupted area crashed after few sec.

maybe some texture , fx issue with the driver / 780 ???

Interesting theory about the crashes to login being related to your graphics card, but I doubt that's your problem. If it were a graphics conflict the game is more likely to crash to the desktop.

I've been having similar problems myself. But as an experiment I changed to the European gateway from the American gateway. Suddenly I have no problems, as long as I play solo or create any instance I play in. Yet half the time if I join an instance from someone on the US gateway I get dropped to the login screen. If you test another gateway and find you aren't dropping to the login screen anymore, your drivers are probably fine. Of course joining a pub would be just as much hit and miss as before.
i choose the EU gateway at the first login. isn't that saved?
i will check this.

things made me think it is gfx related:
* massive more crashes in that corrupted area
* the no signal from gfc to monitor
* the short freeze before crash
* the few freezes where i just came back into game after the freeze

maybe just too much crashes are logged in the code as "disconnect"

the "no signal" may be related to a so called
TDR Bug (Timeout Detection and Recovery) which occurs with many of the nvidia drivers.

so in general i believe something let my game crash (gfx related) my system/driver do the TDR-sh1t, PoE handles this crash with returning to the login.

but now i will check if it is still sets to EU

EU is set :/
So all my crashes occured while using the EU gateway.

With the latest update I have very similar problem! Cpu and gpu usage are very high while in game, and monitor loosing signal on PoE freezing, like OP case.

Intel Core 2 Quad Q8300
Nvidia GeForce GT 220
I tried many more things now!

Installed PoE fresh.

Installed another fresh gfx-driver (332.21 currently)

The crashes are random.
Not map, enemy, skill or sound related.

One thing I notice is that the first session till crash is the longest.

Thus i can play for 1-2 hours and have no problems.
then suddenly i get a crash.
after relogging in, the next crash most likely follows very fast (~5 - 20 min maybe)

i have no F***** idea what could be wrong.

hardware is new and should run PoE without a prob.
system is new.
all driver installed.

everything runs smooth, but out of a sudden FREEEEEZE BAAAM.

this really sux!

I am having the same issues as SLAINE..

Over the last week and a half PoE has become impossible to play enjoyably. I crash RANDOMLY and have tried numerous things to fix the issue.

*Defrag
*Completely wiped all drivers and reinstalled 3 times
*Changed from Steam client to normal client which was annoying because I had to email GGG Support to do that
*Ran PackCheck
*Tried multiple shortcut tips.. --swa --softwarenoaudio or whatever
*Reinstall multiple times
*Endless forum patrolling

System is a beast and has never had issues with anything.
Everything is up to date.

From what I can tell, there are people all over who are having this issue. Completely random client crashes. For me, I get "Path of Exile has stopped working..." and crash to desktop. It happens anywhere from the 1st step in town to 20-1hr of playtime. It makes progressing or boosting anyone nearly impossible. I've been trying to stream my gameplay as well, which is making the disconnects even more frustrating.. I would be in the top ladder if it weren't for this issue. Please help!!
Hey there,

@SLAINE

Can you please run a WinMTR report? This will allow us to diagnose where the connectivity issues in your route are occuring. Make sure these are done to the gateway you are having trouble with (EU) and while you are running Path of Exile and having your connectivity issues.

@sahern1988

Are you crashing to Desktop? Or to the login page? Can you please specify this detail further in a new thread? Be sure to include a DxDiag report (and a WinMTR would be ideal too).
