Apex Fragment Drop Manipulation

I would be very surprised if vastly more people were playing at dawn than midnight though. Dawn is like 5 AM in the US. No idea about NZ.

I'll believe OP knows what he is talking about when he posts a handful of midnights, tbh.

He obviously hasn't got any.

Maybe we're not talking the time of day, here, but the time of hour? GGG has people playing all over... and making something only drop during one short time period/day is silly. Including where that's been done in games before.
Ok, I'll play along (beats playing the game tbh)

perhaps it works with seconds

45-60sec = Midnight
30-44sec = Dusk
15-29sec = Noon
00-14sec = Dawn

^can't be true because then all fragments would have the same drop chance which is obviously not the case.

More likely possibility:

:00 - midnight
:01 - :29 - dawn
:30 - noon
:31 - :59 - dusk

So from your posts I gather:

It depends on when the instance is created
It depends on when the boss is killed (That's when the chest unlocks)

I have to ask though, does level matter? Or are you farming low level side areas and still getting midnights?

And also, do you have to be precise for any of the fragments to drop? (Mainly noon or midnight from my assumptions)

E/ I'm assuming that its the boss's death timed from when you start the instance.

The tier of:
00
01-29
30
31-59

should make sense with the rarity of noon and midnight at the moment
Gonna try to test whenever I run into any of the areas but Im hoping that the level of the place isn't taken into account

I think this is a really probable theory, since "Dusk" and "Dawn" are both very general/unspecific terms and represent a large segment of a day. On the other hand, "noon" and "midnight" are very specific times of the day (12:00).

However, following that theory, the Midnight fragment should drop as often as the Noon fragment. Though, Noon drops less often than Dusk/Dawn, but still drops more than Midnight.

Also if this theory is true, does it correlate with the time at which you find/enter the instance, kill the boss, or open the vessel? And is the timeframe every minute, hour, or day?

Seems to me right now its:

:00 - midnight
:01 - :02 - dawn
:03 - :04 - noon
:05 - :59 - dusk

Maybe a bit extreme but whos to say they are evenly seprated?

I believe OP was right, but here is another trick - you perform a ritual of circuiting around the Vaal vessel exactly 12 times before opening it.

And don't forget to do it clockwise or it won't work.

You won't have my gear.
No no, it all has to do with the weapon type you kill the boss with.

For example, with a dusk blade you get the sac at dusk frag. With midnight blade you get the midnight frag...etc
