Is anyone actually using Vaal Gems?

I use one Vaal Spark in combination with fork, good for to start or to end boss fights. :)
The other vaal Spark I use is linked to Cast on Death and Portal. So the area get's cleared before coming back through the portal. :)

When I run maps with a close friend I use Summon Vaal Skeletons.

Mainly to open chests, the Skeletons are a good buffer.
Never died once to a chest yet !

Also my teammate appreciates the wall of Skeletons when he is being overrun !

I use vaal haste and vaal discipline with inc duration.

A neat trick with vaal reave:

Pop it for strongboxes or large packs. Then after it is finished use regular reave. The stacks remain so your regular reave is using ~15 stacks of aoe.

I can pop vaal cyclone 4-5 times a map.
and vaal storm call charges after 8 kills.
it's not a problem.

Vaal Spark with LMP and Fork for bosses and crowds.

Vaal Cold Snap when opening boxes to freeze everything that pops out.

Yes in charity event. As I level it'll prolly get phased out but fun while it lasts.

I use Vaal haste which I think is pretty cool for speed boost,everyone goes into turbo mode plus I get 2-3 maybe even 4 charges per run.Handy to time it with someone elses Vaal like Cyclone.

As a complement to a Three Dragons Incinerate build, Vall Fireball + GMP + Conc Effect + Fire Pen. Versus invaders and bosses at close range it can instakill if you get a decent amount of fireballs to hit, even with 3 man HP. All the hits heal you with Cybil's Paw too.

Vaal Ground Slam is really in need of something. I'll suggest that they make it chain 5-6 times over 10 seconds, that it breaks all containers in the instance, and increase it's radius about two fold.
