i would love if there were an auction house, maybe similar to diablo 3's. i would even be willing to pay for the feature to be available... like to be purchased from the microtransaction store or something. it would be nice if it were rather affordable so lots of people were willing to buy and use it though.

really hope this idea gets some consideration, and maybe even gets implemented soon :)

Excellent idea!

Auction House? Already have one, it's called poe.xyz. It's just clunky and not actually integrated in the game. All adding an in-game auction house would do is make it less obnoxious to use.

that site is awesome, thx for the link :)
Hmm an auction house, this actually sounds like a good idea.

Has anyone raised this idea before, on the forums or otherwise?

It might just be that GGG haven't seen the suggestion and once they see it they'll drop it right in

I agree OP +++

good idea m8, you should start a suggestion-thread!
Okay, so I'm going to sound like an idiot, but I've been playing this game for about two days and I don't really know anything. I'm actually not sure how I got to this thread. Also, I may be a little drunk. But,

wow. That was a really cool article. I used to play WoW for a while, and the economy described there is way way more interesting. How similar is the PoE economy to this article (once I find an actual city)? Are player owned shops a thing? Does crafting have much variation? (wait... is there crafting?)

Sorry for the stupid noob questions. I just haven't found an overview of the game (all I have found are intros and super advanced map evaluations that I don't yet understand) and I have no idea what I'm really getting into here.

Your article pretty awesomely sums up why POE actually needs an AH. See here:

So do auction houses suck? No, not if your game is about getting. It is a better experience for a gamer interesting in getting.

POE is about getting.

i agree, and thanks for the support.
poe is about getting, and it gives good things often, but not always exactly what you want, which is why it would be nice to be able to trade what you get for what you want.

I'm in disagreement there. I believe that any game designed with trading in mind needs to stay as far away from centralised trade as possible, otherwise the entire trading metagame gets stale, thus thousands of players who actually enjoy trade (like me) will lose out on fun.
D3 trolls at their best. Ah gonna get removed gl with your ROS expansion wich is a joke :)
Look on my works ye mighty, and despair.

Harvest league oh you are beautiful.
