perty darn sure they're server side. It would be completely against their design philosophy to have stuff like that in the hands of the players.
Everyone's saying the GCP Recipe made a "huge impact", but really, did it really?

Level 20 Gems were 1ex, 20q Gems were 1ex, 20/20 was 2ex.
After Recipe discovered [publically]: prices still the same.

Tell me, how was it possible to make a profit off of that?
I guess because there's more demand for 20q than lvl 20, but still, you'd still make the same Currency..

Buy all level 20 no qaulity gems from poe.xyz, under prise them then throw in a gcp and sell 20% ones for profit.

(btw prices where different before this recipe became common knowledge, % gems where much more valuable)
Freedom is not worth having if it does not include the freedom to make mistakes

The prices weren't different before, not even close.

Same as now, you could buy a 9-11%q for ~1GCP, toss ~10GCP on it (~1ex total), and have a 20q. Or you could buy a 20q for 1ex.

Exactly the same as it is now...

But when abstract ideas like fun come into a discussion like this, I nearly always seem to think about pegging. The auto-response is whatever floats your boat, but it's weird when you end up seeing it. Because it's not like an Easter egg hunt where you're given any sort of clue; there are eggs in your garden, as opposed to there are eggs in A garden which may or may not be even in your street.

I don't give a **** to be honest, because it should really about fun but something useful being introduced into the game. I just don't like the incessant need for everything to be a game.

Hmm... I am just speculating here, but if any recipes are actually discovered but kept secret, they must be valuable to players who sell a lot of gear, are hardcore about being at the top of the ladder, and/or players who are hardcore about winning races. I mean, if it were me, I'd only consider keeping a recipe secret if it gave me an enormous advantage competitively in the community and I wanted to keep my edge.

Also, it could be that if the undiscovered recipes require leveled or qualitied items, fewer players may have the inventory to test for them anyhow. Like if it's endgame stuff, fewer people are going to have level 80 items or maps etc.

I agree that the community would benefit from some hints about the recipes -- maybe not right away, but perhaps if none have been reported as discovered by the next update, we'd get a hint. I understand that some players like the challenge, but the game is hard enough already (solo); as a casual player who really loves this game, I'd like to be in on as much as possible, as I don't have the schedule to game for 20 hrs a week or grind the docks for a whole weekend, or do all the races - -though the last two seasons, I sure did try! I've been saving all the currency I can since release, and I'm still poor. I bought a ton of stash tabs, too, so I totally have the room for eventual wealth! LOL

But back to my speculation... I'm just guessing, but if the "secret" recipes have been discovered but not shared, I'm guessing they have something to do with...
- tri-resists
- magic find
- other coveted affixes
- currency exchange or upgrade
- involves item level
- involves expensive currency (alc, chaos, exalt...(s) etc?)
- involves number of something (stack of currency or quality amount or x number of the same thing)
- involves something too rare for most players to have in inventory

Or perhaps, given the "minion" theme of the 1.0.6 patch and the last couple of rounds of new recipes revolving around crafting magic items with affixes, maybe the 1.0.6 recipes have something to do with the +1 and +2 level of minion gems to a helmet? Although, I don't see how that would be particularly too precious to share.

I tried a lot of combos myself, and came up with nothing. It was fun and exciting for the first 40 minutes... I give a lot of respect to the players who have discovered the recipes we do publicly know! This post is perhaps the last bit of energy I have on the subject. At least till the next patch.

oooh, really? well, look at that. all my ideas were WRONG.

I thought that jade flasks are only available in Domination/Nemesis, though? Have they already been officially added to the other leagues?
