POE= Ninja looting game?
" Dumbest shit I've ever read. NO ONE except bots play public Diablo 2 anymore. Every fucking Baalrun made by legit players is organized with a fair lootsystem which rules are made up by the group itself. In 2013 though, we have a new game, that has all the means in the world to stop making public partys a retard fest, but we decide against it because we need "competitive grabbing". JESUS WHAT THE FUCK ARE YOU RETARDS SMOKING? How about this suggestion: Allow party leaders to choose a loot system between grabfest and instanced loot. I bet my left nut, no scrap that, I bet my dick 99% of public parties are gonna use instanced loot because it's fun for nobody if just one guy tries to kill the monsters while the rest tries to reach their loot in time, resulting in hostility, slow as fuck runs and an overall bad atmosphere in the game. Jesus you fucking rpg-grandpas should stop defending retarded system because you're nostalgic of them and probably run a private group anyways. |

Seriously with so many great design choices I wonder who's idea it was to encourage parasites to prosper in public games, completely discouraging running around in public groups and making friends that way.
As cool as your social interface is, it's overshadowed by the antisocial loot system in place leading to nothing but hostility and distrust toward public players, making this a single player game if you don't have real life friends to play with. |

FFA supporters in a nutshell:
"Just shut up and accept it because we're better than you. cuz Diablo 2." |

" Pretty much. I've seen no legitimate defense of this system. It's all bullshit. Yes, even the one about it being more 'exciting' to spam-click as a boss is dying (lolwut?). It's total crap. Of all the negative things to bring over from Diablo 2, this has to be one of the worst. |

Lots of these threads are starting to show up since the OB began and even before.
It really irritates me when people respond to someone who favors instanced loot with, "Play with your friends or ppl you trust only, but don't change the way it is now". So we can assume from the above response that this person already has that which they are suggesting we get. The problem is, not all of us have a group of friends who play this game. We still like playing in groups but we also like getting loot to improve our characters. In party games there is so much crap flying around and insane amounts of visual clutter that it is hard to even see what is dropping let alone see it in, what is it? Three seconds? The timer just adds to the frustration. You see a nice rare with your name on it drop but you can't get there in time and some other player picks it up. I would rather there was no timer at all, at least I wouldn't feel like I was cheated of something that was earmarked for me. So you have people screaming in games, "Stop stealing my loot!" and "Kick so-and-so because they stole something that was mine!". Now the party leader has to stop and play judge and jury and no matter what he decides people are gonna be pissed off and frustrated. I thought that FFA loot made the party experience faster though? In your average pub game that is absolutely false. Some of the more intelligent posters have made the very valid point that if you already play in a group of friends or people you trust it doesn't matter if loot is FFA or not. You aren't going to have the squabbles over drops that you get in a pub party of strangers. So then why do players who play in trusted groups already, feel so strongly about forcing those of who don't have those groups to play with mechanics who's penalties they don't have to worry about anyways? All this really does is penalize those of us who don't have large groups of unemployed/student pals who have nothing better to do than play games all day long. I have not seen one feasible argument based on any kind of facts from an opponent of instanced loot on why it is superior to FFA loot in this game. All those of us who want instanced loot want is an option for it when making our parties...Or better yet, relegate FFA loot to the cut throat league where it belongs. |

had it yesterday, the party description said "looters will be kicked" and then someone took a regal orb which was assigned to the party leader.
as we couldn't figure out who took it, a huge discussion began about what assholes play this game and so on. i was about to leave the party becuase they didn't go on and kept discussing. but then it would have looked like i took it ... bad experience and i felt uncomfortable although it wasn't my fault. suggestion: remove the player name from the loot timer. then items are blocked by someone and free for all when the timer is gone. no accusations anymore and time restricted loot assignment as we have it now. age and treachery will triumph over youth and skill!

" Some of us prefer to play the actual game, rather than loot whack-a-mole. FFA loot means no partying with randoms ever. Real talk. |

" WTF? PoE is an RTS?!? Blew my mind. |

" Wow...gotta love arguments that has no deep thought. I'm pretty sure people were rushing to get loot because they had no other choices, not because it was thrilling or fun. It's a fundamental flaw in the loot system, this is not the reason why people like ARPGs. And no, D3 is NOT the only game with instanced loot, it's funny how you said that to others, really, have you played ARPGs other than the Diablo series? Tech guy
