So, what are your initial thoughts on this new 'minion' skill?

For those people saying Summoners already lack gem slots and we can't have all those skills at the same time anymore: good!

Finally we will get some variation in summoning. Today everybody is using the exact same setup: snapshot big zombies, add the small ones, righteous fire spectre, tentacle spectre, resist aura, vitality aura,... .

I love the fact that we'll have to make choices now!!!

I don't snapshot.
I don't use any specter's but the Evangelists.

I'm talking about efficiency in summoning. Zombies and Specters ARE the best route. Animate weapon/guardian pales in comparison. I hold doubts that this new skill will be good enough to warrant a change.

I did mention in the original post that it might give way to a different kind of summoner, and I will try a duration based summoner when the skill goes live, but in current mainstream summoner builds, I hold doubt that it would replace skeletons.

Exactly wrong. Snapshot/gem juggle is going away along with COD.
