Difference between MOBAs and ARPGs in terms of desync

Do you guys know how language works? If everyone is calling it MOBA, it's called MOBA. I only see Dota fanboys bringing this up because they hate LoL. It's MOBA for most people, deal with it.

Back when I started playing DotA in 2005 all the way to 2010 it was the AoS genre. I took a year and a half break, come back, and see a bunch of LoL and Moba crap.

You LoL fans can go ahead and call it what you like, but it's still the AoS genre.

When I google AoS genre the first link leads to a Wiki article about Moba. Moba became the mainstream name. Language develops over time :)
GGG banning all political discussion shortly after getting acquired by China is a weird coincidence.

It leads to a wikipedia article that has clearly been created and/or edited by LoL fans who think that it's the moba genre. They'd be wrong of course. Wikipedia can be edited by anything, so you have proven nothing.

Whatever "popular" subsection of players think it should be called, doesn't change the fact that it makes no sense to call it that.

Back when I was in elementary school, I was taught that the Oxford Comma was the correct form of punctuation for listing serial items, and anything else was WRONG. Guess what, now it's 2014 and not everybody agrees with that sentiment nowadays.

Language changes. It's kind of a part of the way language works.

Wow.
According to forum mods "sandwich" is considered an offensive word. Who knew?

Dota fanboys having to fight against the Moba term so much just proves that it's the most popular term for such games :) Also go on and try to edit the article as you wish, you'll see it won't work. That's not how Wikipedia works. You also obviously don't understand how language works, I tried to explain it but you're still on the Dota vs LoL trip which has nothing to do with it.

Whine all you want, fact is, the term moba comes from LoL. LoL's popularity peaked hence why the term is currently sticking, but it won't always be on top. Deny if if you like, but the term is intricately linked with LoL. Take a step back and get the wider picture. Someone earlier posted something that made a lot of sense. You probably didn't miss it but as you can't get a clue, I'll post it again for you:

It is linked with LoL but is now acknowledged as the term for such games. New games like Strife (HoN 2) and Infinite Crisis call themselves Moba. Moba is here to stay, and Dota is a Moba too :)

Strife was better then HoN sadly, before they ruined it. They've ruined HoN aswell...

And my love for mobas is gone. But It's probably because I've played it for so long. D;

Whoever says MOBA games (particularly LoL) don't have desync then you're just deluding yourself. Ever notice minions suddenly moving along at turbo speed? Yeah, that's desync.

Also, the number of ways LoL is exploitable is quite vast. It has and is being done. A lot.

And Dota is sluggish as hell: the turnrate and built in delay are gigantic, which allow more time for netcode to do their magic. Yet they also sometimes get out of sync.[

I have never, not once, experienced desync in LoL. Minions sometimes moving faster/teleporting is a measure against creep blocking. It's not desync.

Care to back that up? I have never personally seen anyone exploiting LoL and I have played since S1. The only exploit I've witnessed(not actually encountered myself) was when someone exploited Flash with no CD. And you know what's really funny? Even when the game was being abused in ways it obviously wasn't meant to, it still did not desync!

You're the delusional one, I'm afraid.

EDIT: Oh yea, PoE is being exploited as well. Bots, maphacks, zoomhacks, etc.
