Whoever says MOBA games (particularly LoL) don't have desync then you're just deluding yourself. Ever notice minions suddenly moving along at turbo speed? Yeah, that's desync.
I don't think it is pure desync, blocking your own mobs is a method to change where your and the enemy mobs will meet. Easily seen by attempting to block them during the absolutely first wave of the game.
Back in the days there was a strategy involving blocking a lot of the minions in middle, so I am guessing that's why they increased the speed of blocked minions.
Edit: put wrong name in quote XD.

You quoted the wrong guy. Anyway, you never see this happen with jungle creeps for a reason.

Another thing to consider: Is the sluggishness that results from the worst that "wait-for-server" netcode has to offer an okay compromise compared to the desync, teleporting, and unexpected deaths that come from the worst that PoE's current netcode offers?
I would much rather have a 0.5 second delay between my actions in worst case scenarios than being unable to reliably line up shots with Spectral Throw in best-case scenarios.
Thank you -- this is EXACTLY the question I was trying to ask in my original post. In particular, is a little bit of a delay on all of your actions worth never having to worry about being warped back into a room surrounded by guys b/c your character wasn't actually able to get away on the server. Would it be more fun to fight Brutus with no desync and a 25-150ms delay on all of your actions, or fight Brutus where you have no idea where he really is and when he is actually going to hit you?

If you had a half second delay in playing PoE it would be like playing in a sandbox the neighborhood bully filled with molasses. Seriously, do you understand how huge that is? I think Brutus' chain would be undodgeable with that high of a delay.
Read my book! The world ending in every way anyone ever thought it might end, all at once. First few chapters are available online for free.

A half second delay is assuming a 250ms ping, which would be pretty terrible, and is unplayable in almost any online game. If you have that terrible a connection, you are most likely so out of sync with the server that dodging Brutus' chain would be out of the question anyway. I have a great connection and I can't dodge Brutus' attacks, because even though his animation isn't anywhere close to me on my machine, on the server he is really hitting me because of desync.
