Poor godssend, don't even try talking to these idiots....the beta community is full of them. People just dont seem to get the message that the game is boring in its current state cause most of the class builds kill way way too slow. Yes Shock nova was OP, we all know, no one cares. We just have to wait for 9.3, and maybe they might have the other classes be a bit more effective by then. No we dont have to clear all mobs in 2 secs, but taking an hour to clear a level as a melee really stinks and I'll never have any interest in that.

" You claim you understand this game is in beta, and yet you don't seem to realize the game is not nearly completed yet. They are adding a LOT more to the game, so yes, there will be more content. Additionally, simply buffing everything is horrible game design. Yes, people want to feel powerful, but if they feel overpowered, the thrill of killing things, the excitement about the risk of death (there should be a risk at all points) all wane in short order. Ever try God modes on various games, or invincibility cheats on Game Genie and things like that? It's exciting for a bit, but the game's replay value fades RAPIDLY. Once you've gotten to the point of clearing a screen in seconds, what is there left to attain? Making sure there's a sense of danger and, yes, challenge to a game, while maintaining a feeling of power is proper game balance, and it is difficult. WoW suffers horrible scaling because they've done exactly what you suggest from BC to Wrath to Cata -- buffed everyone and everything to crazy levels, so now people are exponentially more powerful than they used to be. Yes, the numbers are relative, but it also completely trivializes old content, which can be seen as old dungeons (especially BC), which were challenging, are now gone through in a quarter of the time with at-level characters. Or, with WoW as the example again, take the experience with Heroic dungeons; as characters get entirely overpowered for the content, they trivialize it, and it becomes entirely uninteresting. It works okay in WoW because there are raids above heroics (which become trivialized as well and thus uninteresting), but in POE there isn't really that sort of infrastructure. That being said, there needs to be a level in which all player skills reside, and that needs to be well balanced with the difficulty level of the content. So, if a skill is well above that range, it NEEDS to be brought down, or else you have to bring EVERYTHING up -- mobs included, meaning characters won't feel overpowered, which is what you've claimed people SHOULD feel. Arguing that all content besides bosses should be able to be trivialized will, essentially, destroy the game's end-game content. Sure, as a player gets more powerful, a character should become more powerful, but overpowered is called overpowered for a reason. It's above where balance should be. And then you get a game state that would be called "broken," in which the systems benefit one configuration so much, that players would be stupid to choose any other to be able to play the game as effectively. Whether you like it or not, players NEED a challenge within a game to remain involved and interested in it. You might not realize that, but that's how compelling games are created: by generating challenges that are both challenging and able to be overcome. Nerfing is an essential element for game balance. Especially in beta when systems are still being deployed and configured. If you understand beta testing as you say you do, you probably shouldn't be complaining about nerfs in general. By doing so, you reveal that you're giving your opinion in a more reactionary manner, even to the point of self-entitlement. You come across as trying to claim that you have the right to be overpowered; and if the game went in the direction you suggest, just about everyone would complain that the game was too easy (like many do about WoW), and the impact of creating a powerful-feeling character is reduced to nothing. If everyone is powerful, then there's no sense of achievement for doing well. Games rely on that sense more than you realize. Old Tom Bombadil is a merry fellow, Bright blue his jacket is, and his boots are yellow. None has ever caught him yet, for Tom, he is the master: His songs are stronger songs, and his feet are faster. Last edited by TomBombadil#2810 on Sep 12, 2011, 3:55:33 PM

Saying this is a beta and the next patch is a balance overhaul is perfectly valid.
Nerfs are to be expected. It's how you balance. Just as you say "Oh this is OP!" *nerf* becomes a cycle, it would be equally stupid to just have "Oh this is not OP!" *MAKES OP* and then cycle that. Balance would never be achieved on either route. You need to nerf some things, buff others. Which is what the next patch is doing so creating a thread to complain about it, when it's potentially already solved *and* prematurely complaining about a cycle that has yet to start is not beneficial at all either. Something was OP, it got nerfed. It was a simple to do nerf, so they threw it out there. Overhauling the melee classes isn't such a simple task so that will most likely take place in the major balance patch. If you can't handle nerfs, then multiplayer computer games are not for you because that's a major part of balancing *anything*. Also I've noticed this trend a lot recently. People post a suggestion and then people comment on it. When someone disagrees they immediately go "QQ I'M JUST POSTING A SUGGESTION LIKE WE'RE SUPPOSE TO, LEAVE MEH ALONE". This is a place to *discuss* things, if someone suggests an idea and people disagree, they *will* respond so the devs know, "hey, the majority disagrees" so it can give devs an idea of what the community as a whole wants. They'll take note, but they'll think about it extra hard if lots of people disagree. If you can't handle people criticizing your suggestion/comments or back them up with logical reasons and not resort to name calling or "I know more than you" then don't post them because people will *certainly* criticize it, and keep doing it. Forums are there to discuss things. Last edited by Aedilith#7948 on Sep 12, 2011, 4:04:01 PM

" For so many words this post is useless, it is not what i posted about. level 54 should be balanced in level 54 dungeon, level 74 shouldn't. Nothing is permanent. Post is about future progression and not its current state so stop mentioning beta................. Point of beta = feed back Try posting some useful suggestions of your own instead of criticizing mine with completely invalid points. Last edited by Godssend#2067 on Sep 12, 2011, 4:16:56 PM

The point you seem to be missing about the fact it's beta is that there *is* no level 74 content, so what are they supposed to balance to? See the problem? The game scales the way it does so people that level *can* test stuff against monsters that offer challenge. If you pranced around level 74 annihilating everything you would in no way be able to go "hey this skill doesn't hit hard enough at level 74!", and people are that far in the game AFAIK. When Act 3 comes along you might finally be able to be the OP little monstrosity you feel the Devs are required to make you at level 74, in a level 54 zone but for now, be patient.
So again, back up your reasoning with something other than insults and "I know more than you" or else you end up looking like you know nothing. Hopefully you finally understand this concept, but at this rate it appears you won't since you sit in your own little world devoid of anyone being able to disagree with your opinion. (The ending in that quote was aimed at you, Point of Beta: Useful feedback, not complaints backed up by QQ.) Last edited by Aedilith#7948 on Sep 12, 2011, 4:30:11 PM

Poor weaklings whining about getting nerfs of overpowered skills ,like in every game.
Its not easy enough for you then quit ,games are about challange not faceroll over your keyboard and pwn everything. I post feedback without favorizing any class. Actualy today i posted feedback to skill section to remove the skill i use myself as a main skill from my class just because i feel its way to owerpowered and make all other skills useless comparing to it. While as a gamer i feel that all skills should have similar power ,and you should pick them for their style that would fit your personality/gaming style. I dont want to see everyone picking same class and same skill because its owerpowered. It make me actualy sick to see all the weak players going the easy way instead of the challange or fallowing their true style. Though if our true style of gaming is "brainless faceroll" then what i can say ,only congratulate the good taste. Last edited by herflik#4390 on Sep 12, 2011, 4:44:01 PM

"None of this is valid. Skills aren't complete. Level-ranged content isn't complete. Why would they do short-term balance based solely on the minimal content we have now? You make it sound like those are the only skills the game is going to have, and they need to balance them so we have something to play. They're looking at the big picture, which includes more than the meager amount of skills we now have. Closed Beta/Alpha Tester back after a 10-year hiatus.
