When it comes to clearing trash etc... there is no reason not to be over powered when killing them. What is the point of having 200% increased damage and 200% IAS etc...(dont get number crazy its generalized) if you kill mobs at the same speed as level 1, or 10 etc... BOSS mobs should be hard not trash content. In D2 people skipped it completely but if you cast most of it died fairly quickly.

Again what is point to have extremely high stats just to have the random mobs to scale up to it making yu weaker than level 1 without the best gear in the game?

This isn't about SHOCK NOVA!! It's about the steps taken to fix it.

I don't wanna see the never ending nerf cycle start because it happens in every game and leads to weaker characters all around.

i can't see why anyone would;t want to be powerful. if you say you don;t than why complain about witch damage? because you want to do the same damned thing.....

They're balancing the game in the beta for a reason! Stop complaining about nerfs, they're necessary to balance things out. Remember that 0.9.3 will be the big balance patch.

^^^did you even read my posts...

This is "Beta Feedback Forums"

So i should sit back before they start doing the real balance. the point of the thread, again, wasn't to flame the forum because of 1 ability. It is a plea for future patching.


Everyone here is quick to jump down my throat for adding feedback? How about some people who support this? I know i am not the only person to see things this way.

You're still missing the main point that Shock Nova was far too powerful at max distance. You're not asking for balance, really. You're just asking for your build to be overpowered again. If you wanted balance, you would understand that a melee character can't clear the screen at once without some illogical skill. The same goes for bow characters. I know casters are generally faster killers, but Shock Nova was just too much. You can't balance up to it without making every class the same AoE spammers.

To make the game progressively challenging, enemies scale upward in a curve, not a line. The further you get into the game, the more severe the scaling is. You need those speed and damage enhancers to keep up. If leveling your gear and gems relative to enemies was all it took, there would be no need for passives at all. If the only challenges were bosses, the game would be boring. With that said, my 55 Shock Nova witch does just fine in Chaos, just a little slower than before.

Shock nova was glitched not overpowered, fix the glitch.

My char is Speced for Spark.

My character still has high mitigation and can stand there and kill everything around me.

I did not get screwed by the patch, even if i do a little less damage AE.

Read the forum....

post wasn't about me getting screwed today, post is about the direction I am afraid they will take while balancing.

AoE = Trash

Single target = Boss
You are always free to roll some other class or other specc of a witch, oh no wait, you'd never do that since NO other class and NO other witch specc still doesn't do as good as shock nova witch does.

"baww baww I used to clear entire screen in 1 second and now it takes 2 sometimes even 3 seconds! ;_;" You are the type of player who just wants everything easy and asap. Nobody likes nerfs but when something is as ridiculously OP as shock nova was that wasn't even in the same category with rest of the skills you still yell and cry that it's alright. If shock nova is OP white and rest of the skills are shitty black and the point of the game is to have shades of grey in terms of power, the baddy black becoming OP white isn't logical no matter how much you cry.

If people like you could decide what skills did then every single skill would clear every single screen in less than a second just because "herpus derpus my power is maximum this if funs xD"

Shades of grey, deal with it.
