GGG should probably address the player retention rate

Visit here http://www.pathofexile.com/forum/view-thread/549075/page/1 if you want to talk about MC/BM. Because it's a topic that's been raised quite a few times and nothing has been done regarding the inadequacy that is MC/BM.

Back on topic, retention rate is probably low for several reasons that have probably been beaten to death.

I suppose the RNG in endgame maps is the biggest reason that drives most people away after a while.

WTF is going on here? What is wrong with you people?

First, the steam graph showing 30kish people at the beginning of release, Chris said they went over 60k at that point. Unless a giant chunk of players switched over to steam I think assuming double that 14k average at the end of the scale isn't hard to assume. Even if it's only 5k the record in OB was 30k IIRC. If we are AVERAGING near the PEAK of OB we are in a fine place. I think Chris's comments are with the assumption that people will leave regardless, they don't expect a 100% retention rate. He also said compared to the previous leagues less people are leaving, which I assume is a % base analysis as total number the two seem very different.

As for the BM, as the only thing you guys can remotely cling to as a Chris "lie" it was an opinion he threw out when people jumped on the BM is dead bandwagon. If you weren't playing an ele DW cleave build then wrath and anger weren't a big impact to your build. Bow users are mostly lioneyes, which would do better with hatred (then and now is still probably more than wrath + anger), 2h users got virtually nothing out of W&A always wanting hatred but hating mana. Grace was a fill in for determination as there comes a point where if you can only have 1, determination will eventually be better.

So in Chris's comment. If you only had 3 auras, 2 which were probably just mild damage bonuses and one which was a defensive buff but secondary to what you wanted to be using, then this was a better. Chris also probably wasn't directly involved in the balancing of the numbers so was probably under the assumption people would run 1 aura but having choice of all the auras rather than 3 that might not be ideal for your build means in Chris's head, by how these things have been explained, this is a buff to BM.

How things work out are completely different. His intention wasn't to deceive us, but to calm the auto-QQ that would come regardless. You guys complain when he doesn't talk then analyze every letter he types for month, are you really wondering why GGG doesn't post more often?

Chris basically shuts the whole thread up and you show a graph PROVING OTHERWISE when 14k is higher than we had in OB. If you don't like the game, make a feedback thread spill your guts on what you'd like to be changed and go play something you enjoy. I just don't understand what people like you are doing. As a rational human being, if I don't like something I just move on and avoid it, not spend the rest of my days letting everyone know how shitty they are, even if I have to virtually make shit up.
