I have used the board as have many others for WTS/WTB etc. Simply because it branches our market out more. The trade system is atrocious in a trade focused game. So apparently I hear of this reddit bullshit, to take back the board. Well if I recall, you can narrow down your search on the board. For me if I want a group for maps, I type in map - to then see groups doings some maps, etc. I had 6 people fucking hop right in my map and start killing and looting shit. You have got to be fucking kidding.
The public grouping option I believe was originally intended for players to group up and play the game whether it be maps or game content. I do not believe it was created with the intent for players to trade with.
That being said GGG realizes that a better trade system is desired from the community and I'm sure they are working hard on it.
Also it is your own choice to set the party to public. If you don't want people to "loot your maps" then make it a private party or group with friends that you trust with permanent loot allocation.

2 problems with that:
1. Real life is not a game.
2. It is illegal to steal a car even if it is unlocked.
I agree with point #2 but point #1 makes no sense. Games are a part of real life. They can have consequences just like stealing a car.
Example: If you make a death threat in a game you can be arrested.
Okay, let me elaborate what I mean about key differences about real life and games.
1. You not decide to get born. However, you do decide whether or not you want to play a game.
2. To quit real life, you'll have to suicide. To leave a game, well just simply stop playing it.
The important aspect is consent. In the real life case, you were forced into this world. Noone asked for your consent. In the game, you have given your consent to play by a certain amount of rules.
For this reason, given that I assume that people are responsible adults, once you've given your consent to something, you better be able to deal with the consequences.

And thus it is ethical for that person to steal your car then? That is the crux of this. I'm absolutely amazed to see people making these arguments and analogies. I'm genuinely surprised.
It's not ethical to steal a car, that should be obvious. However, I don't see a problem with "stealing" pixels from other players if the game allows it.
You can enable law enforcement all you want, and car theft will NEVER drop to 0%. So you make sure you lock your damn car. And don't complain when it gets stolen after you leave a sign on the windshield saying there's change in the cup holder and a smart phone in the glove box.
Look, man. Video games are hard, okay? Last edited by Peace_Frog#0315 on Dec 31, 2013, 11:29:56 AM

I edited my post to reflect what I meant better. What you're saying doesn't convince me. I don't agree with these people and I think it is wrong, in some sense. Pixels or not, the game takes real time, energy, and effort. Very real things, things which people do have real life interests involved with. I don't buy the whole "it's only pixels" thing.
I don't think people who have issues with PoE would appreciate GGG saying "oh it's just pixels guys who gives a shit". Because we have things invested in the game. Money in this case, sometimes, but still real things comparable to time or effort in the other case.
Now, is it some utterly terrible thing? No. But is it enough to warrant me calling someone an asshole? I think so, personally.

Nice logic there, really impressive.
Apart from you haven't said anything about my madness.
I use the Noticeboard to notice someone what I'm buying/selling/mapping, therefore, I don't use the board wrong.
They really are laughable, primarily because people don't learn how to prevent the "invaders", it's very easy.
What I don't like is the twisted logic by the "invaders", making excuses to act like shits, again I appeal to the traders, waste your portals and it's all fine.
Have a nice day
