Because the PoE subreddit is a shortsighted circlejerk that automatically downvotes valid criticism or suggestions that aren't QoL suggestions.

Some of PoE's best changes such as monster health bars, 250% 4L buff and more loot allocation options would never have made it through the reddit hivemind

I realize browsing the upvote culled reddit threads are more positive and fun, but in the end responding to criticism is the only way to keep evolving and improving PoE.

Pretty much nailed it. The PoE community on Reddit is the most pretentious, snooty and cliquey community I've ever ran into. They're all shitbirds.

And you sound like such a pleasant person.

I am pleasant.

Sheep. Remember this is a NZ company. A sheep with lipstick on is a New Zealander's date.
Crafting doesn't exist in POE. Gambling does...and the house always wins.

Velocireptile - I LOL'ed. Which made me fart. I wish the office were empty right now :(

Hardlicker - I had to push the dog out of the way so I could get to the sexy quilt.
Nobody who values his time would sift through the pile of crap here on the forums.

t. someone who doesn't value his time
GGG banning all political discussion shortly after getting acquired by China is a weird coincidence.
I use both, but there are almost NEVER actual discussions about things on Reddit. Most discussion threads get immediately downvoted regardless of wording.

Take for instance the freezemine discussion currently going on here. That has been posted on reddit several times and always gets immediately downvoted because people who use it don't want to lose it.

Yeah cause I'm sure they base all their decisions on what the people on reddit think, while ignoring everything else.

You mean they only post on reddit and ignore the forums?

See, based on some first-hand experience elsewhere, my guess is that it's like this:

If you're working on a project that you care about, like a game, you put in far more time than you get paid for. Part of that time is therefore personal time. You can't expect that the devs willingly sacrifice their recreational personal time to deal with the immature, poisonous, toxic and frequently abusive stuff that a small group of people post here nonstop.

Why?

Because it's not fun.

They do post, probably as much as they "have" to, and I understand why they are not going that tiresome extra mile to play in the sandbox with those that are trying so hard to get them into said sandbox.

If you're disrespectful and ceaselessly complaining, people will eventually stop talking to you. It's boring, not constructive, and it's exhausting. You're a customer (or not), but you don't own their lives and their personal time. They are devs, not your menservants.

You are correct, but there is only one party with the power to "clean up" these forums and remove the toxic elements.

Hint:

Spoiler
It's GGG.

I enjoyed reading some of these "they don't post here because it is badly moderated" comments.

Makes me smile.
