Please stop using Reddit, GGG

You are correct, but there is only one party with the power to "clean up" these forums and remove the toxic elements.

True. I think that GGG are a bit trapped between being long-time gamers and now-professionals. I can't speak for them, but before I became a professional in my field, I was a "user" and a customer. When I switched sides, I had all these grandiose ideals of "doing it better" and "making a difference". It caused me a lot of frustration. Someone, back then, told me, "You can't be a manager of people and also their friend." I resented that, but two decades later, I tend to agree.

Or differently put, I speculate that Chris and Co may just want different things that aren't really compatible: Let everyone post whatever they want, and also have a friendly and constructive community. The thing is, if bad behavior goes unchecked and without consequences, it gets worse, and it drives the civil and mild-mannered people out of the forum. What remains are those who either have a tough skin or an agenda.

But anyway, you're right, it's their forum and they have the broom, so if they agree the place is too negative, then they have to put aside some of their ideals and do something about it.

(To be fair, not all forum areas are like General Discussion.)
They really need to post more here than on Reddit. Every time seeing the GGG next to a thread its just a "dont antagonize" post. That makes this game look unloved to the people that come here and dont follow reddit.

I hate the upvote/downvote bullshit over there. You see half a conversation because half the posts got downvoted to oblivion and cannot be found. The site is terrible. Now if GGG staff want to post there, they shouldnt be using their identity as a fucking game designer to draw attention to themselves. Thats what free time is.

They could easily clean this place up if that is the problem. Add the recent change to trade chat to the forums, get to level 25 or you cant post would clear up a lot of the people using fake accounts to spam up the forums.
Please refrain from antagonizing fellow Redditors , you might get their feelings hurt and make them cry.

Be civil and always cheer someone up even if what they´re doing a 12 year old could do.
make them happy , Redditors are very sensitive human beings which cannot cope with criticism well so they developed a funny button to hide it.

Be kind and be positive !

Reddit layout and formatting hurts my eyes, but they do have a great deal of good info over there.
How much you wanna bet the GGG will eventually respond and post in this thread.

To tell us to be more civil.

I enjoyed reading some of these "they don't post here because it is badly moderated" comments.

"Seriously, its a loot game, make the loot DROP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Cheers"_TugBot_
The reason is because this forum is filled with posts from people that have little to no knowledge about the game and repost about issues that have already been beaten to death, and therefore in their free-time ggg would rather use Reddit, which in general has more constructive, insightful, intelligent, and all around more useful posts. I'm not saying that this forum doesn't have good threads; it does, that's why I use it as well. However, people that really don't know anything about the game and/or development history are much more likely to come and complain/offer useless criticism on the website official forums then on a third party site like reddit.

Some of PoE's best changes such as monster health bars, 250% 4L buff and more loot allocation options would never have made it through the reddit hivemind

What are you talking about? Reddit was most behind loot allocation options and health bars.

You seem to be generalizing and having a really wrong idea about PoE's subreddit.

Which were the worst ideas ever, reddit is a concentrate of the worst things you can find on the internet.

why permanent allocation sucks : -you don't deserve the drop, just stay on a group and wait far from monsters, attack even if you know you deal no dmg at all, and if it drop for you, just grab it. That's almost the way most people play this game on public parties making groups dangerous and unfair.

yes that's the reflection of people in reddit : the lesser they do, the more they want : sooner or later they will discover life doesn't work like that, it will hurt.

Ok there buddy. Just know you're in the minority. Almost everyone loves loot options and health bars.
