Please stop using Reddit, GGG

Comon GGG, even getting screamed at by angry devs is better than this stone cold ignoring

Simple 'yes' 'no' and 'suck my cock' to the desyn threads. Anything is better than copy pasted "please stop posting the atagonise"

All the "toxicity" in this forum can be solved with proper forum moderation / organization. There's plenty of good threads with mature debate & feedback, all that needs to be done is to remove the 1000th thread about desync and possibly provide stickys for common issues players have.

And don't forget who it was that drove the devs from posting here as much as they used to.

Who? Moderators not doing their job and allowing countelss useless threads about desync? Or threads that have just a title and no content - which should be locked on sight.

The devs being "driven away" from their own forums by a few trolls, sounds really a pathetic way to deal with things.

Lol, anyone remember how Chris used to say he doesn't want to divide the playerbase by posting information on reddit? Reddit crowds was generally invited to join these forums if they wanted answers. The forum was the place for interaction with the devs, not reddit.

Now I learn that Chris posts there on a daily basis (compare that to his forum post count).
Granted, most of those posts are fun gibberish, but fucking hell we used to have Chris and others posting that gibberish here and we enjoyed it.

It's like if dad suddenly started to favor the younger child and we, the older child feel abandoned.

It's like dad went away to have fun with the other kids, left us with the strict babysitter and only from time to time uncle Russel takes pity upon us and comes by with a joke to cheer us by.
Be ready. You're not paranoid, you're PREPARED.

Daddy will be back if we get better grades at school and behave better. I hope...

I vastly prefer the subreddit over the forums. The forums are 90% trash and QQ and immaturity. The self-flitering system of Reddit allows for actually decent content instead of constant whining. Admittedly there are sometimes really good threads on the forums but they are not the majority.

The only difference is that in Reddit, if you're not part of the circlejerk, you get downvoted. Here you can at least have an opinion no matter whether people disagree with it or not.

Hilarious irony / 10, would grin again.

I don't see anything wrong with the GGG team using both. The bygone age of a single unified information channel no longer suffices. As for criticism, constructive criticism is what posters should aim for, if they want to see potential results.

Actually, I see quite a bit wrong with the developers using Reddit to send out information. I think it is crap that you can read the official forums and not find out some crucial bit of information that is posted by the developers on a third-party website.

They should just post more on here. So many times I see a thread title that sounds interesting and it has to GGG symbol next to it. I click on the ggg symbol to see what GGG has to say about the topic and the only thing that comes up is them telling people to stay on topic or stop harassing other people.
It's quite frustrating when you wanted to see what they had to say about the topic. Later on in the grapevine you might find out they said something about it on Reddit.

That tells us so much more about the quality of discussion on the forum than it does about GGG.

Bullshit. If the devs threw out a comment here or there on some threads it would be better than letting everything fester like it does now, eventually becoming a trollfest. For example, they had plenty of chances to comment on current SFL goals, but none of them said jack-shit about it. They could have nipped it in the bud by just being forthright. Even if it's not what I wanted to hear there could have been some decent discussion about what they're contemplating.

And, sorry, but if they're posting about PoE on their "free time" then why the hell not post about it on the official forum instead? You know, the one place where they should be posting about it?

Because the PoE subreddit is a shortsighted circlejerk that automatically downvotes valid criticism or suggestions that aren't QoL suggestions.

Some of PoE's best changes such as monster health bars, 250% 4L buff and more loot allocation options would never have made it through the reddit hivemind

I realize browsing the upvote culled reddit threads are more positive and fun, but in the end responding to criticism is the only way to keep evolving and improving PoE.

Pretty much nailed it. The PoE community on Reddit is the most pretentious, snooty and cliquey community I've ever ran into. They're all shitbirds.
