Thare i said it again, 6 link should be left to RNG / chance. having a orb that garentys a 6 link is silly and not needed.


If u need 6 link to run your build something is worng with your build.

If u get a 6 link chest u can modifie your build to benifit from it at that point.


The fact is simpile, 6 link items should be extremly rare and not owned by the vast majority of players in 4 mounth ladders.

I don't see this, personally. People play RPGs for character development and progression, and indeed that is what makes an RPG great for me (when it is done well, that is my favorite aspect of the genre).

You also don't need a 5L, or a 4L. You don't need armor either, you could just run around and die a lot. It isn't about "need". You don't need to play PoE at all. It is about people wanting to experience the things that a game has to offer, and in RPGs, the highest level stuff is the most highly prized stuff.

I don't think this is a good argument.

And that isn't to mention the fact that people just RMT and get one, or do lotteries, which further griefs legitimate players. It isn't surprising that people get bothered by the situation after long periods of playing and not experiencing/accomplishing what they had hoped to.

Unfortunately that is the consequence of a "hardcore" game (and I used quotes here not to imply that poe is not hardcore, I quoted it because... well I don't know really, PoE is a hardcore game to me, at least).

I think of lotteries like those "Checks Cashed" stores. They always show up where everyone is fucking poor and prey on those that don't know any better.

Yeah I really hate lotteries tbh. They seem to just undermine the core concepts of a game like this. But to each their own. I enjoy playing poe the way I do, and I try to not let that stuff bother me.

Me either, just pushing the term "optimal" to its absurd extreme. Don't mind me. No one is going to have truly optimal gear.

Though, yeah, 6L from 5L is a big improvement; that cannot be denied.

But to post more on topic...

I don't think an orb like this would work in the context of PoE. It is clear that GGG wants PoE to be a game with RNG, where anything or nothing could happen (depending on your luck). I like the idea personally, but I'm not so sure i'd be quick to support it. I don't think you can throw out the bath water here without the baby.

I'm happy as a player so long as you can play without doing that.

Where I grow concerned is that lotteries are destructive to the community and player base. I can imagine players leaving the game because of things to do with lotteries, and while not all are scams, almost all are ripoffs.

If you walk down a street and see a lot of ripoff or scam artists peddling their garbage, you go "well, this is a shithole." I'd prefer not to think of PoE as a shithole.
