" Animals and humanoids mostly flee when they are at low life as well. You do not how annoying those monkeys, bears, and even the archers are when I play as a melee character, and when I almost killing them, they decide to ditch. Sometimes you can take the game out of the garage but you can't take the garage out of the game.

" What an excellent post. The fundamental disjoint between "status duration depends on the ratio of life to incoming damage" and "elemental proliferation spreads (without checking defenses) statuses" is a design blind spot.
