Lets assume ur an idiot for thinking steam reflects playerbase. holy shit. just dumb.

so im an idiot for thinking the most accessible place to get the game isn´t at all reflective of the amount of players who play the game?

riiight.

think for a second will ya? PoE came out of beta and had a huge surge of new players. not all of them stick around, most of them move on quite soon. its the same for ALL games. good or bad.
some games have a larger % of players that do stick around than others, thats about it

It is MOARPG, Multiplayer Online Action RPG without the Massively. If I can have things my way, I would prefer POE to be design as a single player game with Multiplayer Online and modding support. You wouldn't have problems such as desync and the game could be much more interesting. Too bad things are not to be.
this is not an MMO mate

just sayin..

Entirely instanced game = not MMO.

Then GGG should not advertise PoE on MMO websites as an MMO.

PS. There are entirely instanced MMO's other than PoE. (DDO comes to mind.)

are we really arguing whether this is an MMO or not?

Who cares if it is or isn't?

Mhmm if "instanced" means it's not a MMO, then what the fuck are the FFXI then? Oh wait, a INSTANCED MMO.

some ppl play games just to complain about them smh
In my country there are Universities offering courses related to video games that would actually NOT define this game as a MMO. It is with that regard--at least for my country--people in this industry would be considered neophytes if they were to use the term MMO when classifying PoE. From an academic standpoint there is now an established identity.

Except people aren't neophytes, they misclassified things intentionally. Misclassifying PoE in MMO genre potentially get them more views, they care less about whether it is academically or politically correct.

Many lewt.
Much desync.
Such rewarding.
Wow.
According to forum mods "sandwich" is considered an offensive word. Who knew?
