" So you are suggesting a Cut-Throat league where its not appealing to PK? Wat? Or if you would like to play in the league you have to pay for a "noob protector"?? All a level cap will do is delay the stalking process. Well organized groups will deck out their low levels with good gear and do the same thing. It doesn't matter if a lvl 60 kills you, or if they are lvl 30 its the same thing. They don't care about the looting, they want to GRIEF. And if you create a hostile button that requires the other person to accept it defeats the entire purpose of the league. I believe that races and short duration events are ok for this type of play, but anything of a significant length of time will devolve quickly into a greifing pit of shit. Just my opinion. " This exactly. In the end you just have gangs sitting outside wps waiting for someone to fuck up. If this is what you want then just do the group PvP. What would having a league accomplish? Ill just say this: pvp in ultima online back in the day pre-trammel was incredibly awesome. You died, you dropped everything. Murderers were reds, I was in a red guild, we had wars with other guilds and took all their stuff, even their locations (uo had player housing too).
But gear in that game was completely different, it was far FAR less item based than an arpg is. People would largely run around with 'white items' and regs for their spells and thats it. Oh, and farm miner macro chars. Still a cut-throat league is a great idea. A hardcore cut throat league is even cooler (drop all items+perma death MWAHAHAHA)! As said before, this type of play in this game is much more suited to short duration leagues. Oh by the way, there is a game thats been running for many years that has a single server (no shards), full drop all pvp, and guilds and alliances can conquer each other and own area's/set up defenses/ect, plus a full player run economy from gathering to manufacturing. That game is Eve Online. I played for years, it was incredible, sadly I haven't had time for it for years (quit in 2011). I think you can even build your own space stations now, and mine planets and stuff. Last edited by kuromahou#7517 on Dec 16, 2013, 10:04:47 PM

" Maybe that is what you would like to do is GREIF! ? Ever see a cop & robber game? APB shit I am bad with names. That was full loot as well I believe... sure there seem to be more criminals than cops. but giving the incentive to be good and help players out in the hardest difficulty of the game is an option. It would "help" balance it out. Also most players that were to be playing this league probably won't be complaining about the Greifing problem. They know what they are signing up for. " Don't misunderstand. Two players, building a character, equipping them, having a strategy, and they dueling is far, far different that open world PvP. Guild vs Guild and group PvP is coming. You don't need a league for what it appears you are suggesting. A cut-throat league has no appeal to a common player. Thus the league will thin into Guild based PvP. I would imagine a significant amount of camping, waiting, posturing. D2 town camping anyone? LOL Right? Why else would a solo player, or non "gang member" play? They wouldn't. I wouldn't. " Thank you for posting I was really hoping a UO expert would see this thread and share there experience. I have no experience in UO but have only heard it was amazing back in the day. I also heard Eve was very good but I have yet to try it. I am basically just saying to the fans of this genre to not give up. Keep talking about Cut-Throat we are still here and waiting for an announcement regarding if the league will be permanent or not. If they decide not to do a perm league that's fine it won't turn me away but I sure would love it if they did make it a perm league. " Your argument is some what valid I see why you feel like we don't need another permanent league. "The cut-throat leagues appeal to the niche of players who demand the most hardcore gaming experience possible" Quoted from the league section. Just this, Hardcore just isn't hardcore enough and that is why. Same goes for the SFL or riot thread. They feel with all the temptation around them is to much and they want there own league lol. I am only wanting the Niche of players that demand the most hardcore gaming experience to keep there hope for such an awesome league. With Guild PVP coming to the 4 leagues we have now. I just don't see it being used much. It will just be like how 3v3 and 5v5 is right now. No one does them. With a Cut-Throat league it would be encouraged to be in a guild to ensure safety with numbers. Which in turn would probably make the large scale PvP fights in act 3 merciless used by more players. 4-months of grief-fest league seems too painful to play for some players. It's a newbie-deterrent league at best.
I'm sure GGG realize how it will hurt their MTX sales for the next 4-months if this league gets approved. Alternatively, nobody gonna stick with HC/Std league that long so they can play PoE. As a paid league? Sure, go ahead. As a perma/4-months league? Nah. Heck, I bet more and more threads about naming/shaming will appear in forums which end-up becoming a hateful posts against each-other. Last edited by lelarentaka7#0849 on Dec 16, 2013, 10:43:31 PM

" btw, was there ever info form ggg how theses paid or custom leagues work? like has everyone who want to play in them pay for it, or just the creator(s) of this league? a good solution would be something like a "collection", where players have to get a certain amount of money together to realize a league with their rules. this way you can determine, how many people want to play in, for example, a CT league. i guess i would a least try it. |

Well going to watch a movie and head to bed. If anyone else has something to say feel free to comment your opinions & ideas. Check back tomorrow.

" To my knowledge: - a guild or group of people pay for it. - the league has a set of rules tailored for them. - outsiders (non-payee) need to get an invite from them in order to join their league. It's more like an 'elitist' league from what I see. But it will satisfy someone's need for a CT/SFL/etc league whenever GGG decide to make it available.
