Cut-Throat League and Why we should not give up!

Hi there, I just want to share my ideas and thoughts about Full Loot PvP and why its important the community doesn't give up on the idea for our game. TL-TR at bottom.

So after playing for the majority of the day yesterday, I decided to go and check out the twitch streams. I usually watch Kripp or Helmann both are skilled players that I like to watch. They have taught me how to survive on HC and I have learned how to race pretty well from watching these guys =P

Today was different tho! Kripp is off in Berlin playing another game and Helmann was not streaming! Oh no! Now what?

I began browsing the other Poe streamers and got bored quickly. I than went to the main page of twitch thinking about watching a stream from another game. I seen a game I had not seen in the top 12 before that caught my eye. "On The Front Page!"

This game is Rust.

One of the first streams I clicked had something like 1,000 viewers while other streamers for this game had 500 or so viewers.

After some research I found out this game had been released on 12-12-2013. So only 4 days ago! It is a early release which is by no means a finished game. Heck one of the first things I seen were a bunch of naked cavemen running around on the streams! Almost sent me away looking for another game right there because it just looked like a joke.

I than saw a PvP encounter where a player killed another and it was full loot!

So here's some background about me first before I go on and blabber about how amazing full loot is. Iv played 2 full loot games in the past 10 years. Darkfall Online and DayZ.

If any of you have heard about Darkfall Online, you probably know the game has a very small player base due to the development of the game taking SO long. I actually played Darkfall for a little bit over 2 years hoping all the patches and expansions they promised would eventually turn up and the game would attract newer players. This never happened. Instead they created a new game and the same BS is still going on where development seems to never happen.

After playing a couple other games and missing the old days of Darkfall I tried out Garry Mod for DayZ. Same idea , full loot pvp , open world. Pretty fun but got bored within 2 months due to an unfinished mod to the game.

In August 2011 I found Poe. I was at PAX Prime in Seattle, WA and someone from GGG gave me a Beta key CD. Read up about the Cut-Throat stuff like many of you and fell in love! Been playing off and on since then and recently came back with the start of Nemesis.

So bleh this already seems a bit long for anyone to read heh... Il try to cut it short.

It just amazes me how this genre of a game has hardly been touched by anyone and done successfully! I mean Rust has been out for 4 days as an early release and is in the top 12 of twitch streams? WHAT?

With the prevous Cut-Throat events it seems like it would be hard for GGG to run a permanent Cut-Throat league because of game balance. The problem is POE is a different genre than other game attempts at full loot pvp. The only game that comes close to this would be Ultima Online if i am not mistaken?

I don't know much about Ultima Online but from what I hear its like the only successful full loot game ever lol! But its like 20 years old!

So why should we not give up on POE having a Cut-Throat full loot pvp league?

Just because it may be hard and not in there immediate list of projects to get it done doesn't mean we should give up. One thing iv seen that POE and this genre of game does is that people come and go. They level up several characters and feel like they have tried everything the game has to offer and than they end up taking a break. With updates to PVP and a PVP tournament coming by the end of the month. I believe it will help to keep the community around longer. Maybe GGG feels this is needed first before they start a full loot pvp server or they have scrapped the idea of a permanent league.

Bottom line don't give up! Keep talking about the Cut-Thoat league.
And GGG Please try and make it happen sooner rather than 2 years from now! Not only will this game be known as "How Diablo should have been" But it could also be known as "Ultima Online & Diablo Smashup"

GGG could also be known for there amazing full loot pvp server and for being what diablo 3 should of been!"

It's there. I can see it. Because I can see it I must enter it. Because I entered it I must read it. This post is longer than 15 words. That's too much for me to handle. Because I must read it and cannot read it I am annoyed. This solves nothing, it is still there, an ugly mountain that I must ascend yet have no wish to.
