So I'm level 85 and farm maps..

RNG is RNG I guess? I have the absolute opposite outcome than OP. I've farmed Peity, templr, Dominus etc forever and bar an exalt or 2 nothing great. Luckily whilst farming these I have managed to level up appropriatly and started hitting level 70+ maps and BAMMMM awesome rolled BoR, Aegis Aurora and such.

you found 6 exalts and complain about rng? .. srsly

got 6 sockets .. one costed 321 jeweler .. second one 294

attempts to 5-link one (yes 5, NOT 6)... 243 fusings .. still not happened

310h into the game now, about 70-80 hours farming with mf culler .. most valueable item so far, is an crap rolled abyssus that i barely traded abway for 22c after a few WEEKS
currency drops are 8 gcp, 4 regal, about 10 regret and 20 chaos for myself..
saw about 15 exalts dropping in groups and for friends .. not a single one for me

got stuck at ~lvl 70 maps ... if a 72 drops you can be sure there will be no mapdrop in this one

and you call yourself unlucky Oo?

thats pretty much the endgame we all face unless you get a bot or trade

lvl 86, out of maps, bankrupt and still only wear shit gear .. game over :=( or beat the crap out of piety for another 100h
welcome to endgame frustration for the unlucky ones

Well I dind't say I'm unlucky in general, in fact I'm pretty lucky with currency drops (dropped another Exalt today so I'm at 7 :P)

I just feel drops inside maps are pretty underwelming compared to regular areas, since you spend currency on them.
Just wasted 9 Chaos on lvl73 Dry Peninsula, rolled 107% Quantity. Got nothing, no maps.
At least was some decent exp.

yeah same here bad luck with map drops and loot until BAM!!! this dropped
now just need to link the dam thing =)
I don’t know folks..Running some 70 (66lvl-72lvl) maps without finding anything really nice gets old very quickly….Spending all that currency to make them nice, seems pointless…Like others have said RNG just seems too wacked ATM…But I play on…Not much you can do I guess…I could spam the trade channel instead of running maps…that might work.
You don't do maps for drops. Maps aren't for drops.
Bossruns are for finding items and loot, Maps are for experience.
That is just how it's designed.

Guess so.
But then, what's that "increased quantity" for?
I mean, I don't really see 50-100% more drops. Maybe on white items.
Honest question.

To encourage you to do them.
And I don't think that 100% Item Quantity means 100% more Items overall, at least thats not how I THINK the system works.
And Maps get you higher itemlevel, which can (haha yeah, like that'll ever happen) result in better rares and the dreaded "map-only" uniques.
But Chris himself said that Bossruns are what you'll want to do, to find much stuff, while maps have the potential for the really high stuff and experience.

And a very good one! Also maps drop the high tier loot that boss runs can't. So, maps have to be for loot, too.

This suggests maps are also designed to drop loot, and that boss runs are there to get you started before you're ready for maps, and/or as an alternative to maps for those who don't like maps.

Recall that GGG made the xp penalty less harsh so that you can, say, farm docks up to lv100 (over a looooong time) for this reason.

You should both read my and Chris post, because it's stated that Bossruns are the loot spectacle.
And I nowhere said that maps are like "You get no loot here". You should stop pressing shit out of posts thats not there.
