D3's logic in POE

D3 was a grind-fest with terrible loot for a reason. Blizz wanted to cash in on the AH. The scheme didn't work. It forced big ass Blizz to change their mind. I think it is too late even for a big title like Diablo.... ( i'll never ever go back )

POE is a grind-fest with terrible loot to extend the playtime. POE is not an empty game and does not need artificial barriers to keep players in. GGG will get the opposite effect with current RNG/loot system. Once players will leave they will never come back. It will be too late for GGG to change anything after that. GGG doesn't have Blizz's resources to correct those kind of mistakes.

Your premise that the loot is terrible comes from trading. If you don't trade, the loot is fine. Once you trade for a "good" item, the "good" items from the game now look like crap. It's your choice. You either play the game with traded items or you play the game self found. My advice... try playing self found before you blame the game. It's a lot more rewarding.

No it's not.... I play self found. I've traded only for 2 items so far. After a couple of hundred of hours the no loot , no orbs, no uniques grind starts to get to me. Self found = crafting. I assume since you don't trade that your inventory is empty and all of your orbs are in maps of in items. Good thing that the RNG really helps you with the feeling of progression.

I am fine with the loot.

Talk about subjetive doomsday prognosis.

I don't want it easy
But it cannot take too long
I want to work for it
But I don't want to grind for it
I want it balanced
But I want to feel powerful
etc
etc
etc


damn you game companies cant you serve the masses and get it right!

yeah true, i play self found and loot is average to good at most. none of it can be sold more than 2ex. until GGG nerfed mf dual sporker then i found more greater loot to ignore on the floor.

so yeah, this game is great. all you need is buy currency from rmt sites and good skill to flip item, then voila, you can faceroll the wraeclast tycoon.

speaking of nerf, it makes greater build diversity, stack more defensive stat more. yay!

Do you equip magic find?

Because it is HIGHLY effective in getting rares and uniques, you don't really even need a crazy amount of it.

RoS has me thinking of going back tbh looks like the stuff I didn't like before are gone.

Saying that you're self found but for two items proves my point... thanks. It's those two items which have established "good" in your perception and drops will just not compare to that. Your two items were probably selected out of over 1,000,000 items if not more. You let others filter them down for you and then filtered through all the ones they filtered out. I bet it's closer to 10,000,000. So of course you're not going to see drops like those.

Loot doesn't bother me. It seems about right, I get bored then find a unique and get all happy and keep on grinding. I never really get anything good but I'll eventually find a unique that will be build changing and I can't wait.
