What is the best of the Voice Chat Options

We do have mumble and Team Speak servers set up Path Of Exile Mumble/Team Speak servers and I have used both. I generally prefer Mumble but there has been mention that Skype for instance is leaps ahead. Is it really and why? My own experience of Skype (+- 5 years back) was that the system was clunky and used tremendous resources.

There has been mention of the following systems in these forums. What I would like, is honest, knowledgeable feedback on which of the systems are the best to use alongside PoE.

Mumble
Team Speak
Skype
Ventrilo
I'm BACK :)
Skype is best for 1 on 1 calls, but for multiple people mumble/TS/Vent is best due to having a dedicated server reducing the amount of time it takes for everyone to hear what someone has said.

I've heard differently. Serious gamers I know use Skype specifically because it does not use a central server, cutting out the middleman, and potentially reducing the call lag by half since you directly send to the recipients IP.

I have not evaluated these claims, but the logic makes sense and many gamer forum posts support this claim.

There was a server client being made, but was dropped in 2010 Skype for power gamers... they are apparently working on a different model.

When in a Skype call there's 1 person hosting the call and he acts as the server. If he lags, the whole call lags. If you have like 6 people in a call and he drops the call, everyone else also gets dropped.
I've used all 4 voice options and personally prefer Ventrilo, with TS/Mumble both a not-far-behind 2nd tie, and skype a far, far distant 3rd.

Ventrilo I like because it is so easily customizable and has so many user friendly features. I can't remember if it was TS or mumble or both that doesn't even allow you to individually adjust a user's volume level.
I use ventrilo and it is my favorite by far. Used to use TS back in the day, but for some reason I'd always get headaches when using it, so I switched to Ventrilo.

I use skype but it is far more resource intensive than most the other programs
The game does not adapt to you, you adapt to it.
Whichever most of your friends are on.
Ventrilo
Ventrilo was awesome for many many years but it is dated. It's voice quality is still top notch, but it's biggest flaws are latency issues and multiple-speakers. Our guild used ventrilo for almost 10 years and only recently changed. After trying out several other options, TeamSpeak 3 is what we chose, and it works great. Every single person agreed they like it better. It has evolved so much since the original version I remembered, and Vent hasn't changed at all.
