Don't feed the trolls
" Its good to have faith. If we work together, by reporting bad behaviors to mods for example, we should be able to keep things civil. I feel we have great mods already in place, but they won't be able to see everything if the forums get a high boost in traffic post Ob. It helps a lot if you can keep your calm while responding to *trolls*.. it can be hard sometimes and even lead to passive aggressivity, but it can prevent things from escalating. They are not always *trolls*, we tend to think everyone has the same perspective of reality, no one really has the same vision of things, or should I say.. the same IQ. " Responding is the worst thing you can do, it's much better to ignore it completely. The trouble is though, for every person that simply ignores them there are plenty more that aren't bright enough to do that and so they get all the attention they desire. Remember, when all else fails, there are two options:
1. hiding global and getting back into playing the game. 2. Just ignore the poisonous trolls. The harmless ones can just be blown off. 1337 21gn17ur3

I will say that I'm rather surprised at the maturity level of this community I'd be willing to guess that it's almost all older gamers which means huge profits for GGG as these people will have more disposable income than some random kids who hear about it on facebook |

" We called it The Dance A clash of wits, trials by fire Bored minds crave each step. Some games get dull quick Lure smart tongues into whips This game, not so limp. Sure, we get dumb trolls. But as noted, they move on Hard to troll when mute. I do miss The Dance Now and then I see a 'troll' and test their rhythm. If I like a game, it'll either be amazing later or awful forever. There's no in-between.
I am Path of Exile's biggest whale. Period. |

Not all trolls are evil. Some trolls like to help people and give... "suggestive" ideas in the process. Twitch.tv/Nithryok

" As a parent, I learned that a child will seek attention.. whether it be good or bad, when they are in need. Ignoring them is not always the solution. Standard: Shiverlyss, Lythyssa, Solaris, Goldorak, Clash, Cleavage, Sunflow. Last edited by Sunflow#6364 on Jan 19, 2013, 9:27:59 AM

" True but arguing or giving in to the need for attention isnt either. So its a doublesided blade. Id personally rather ignore them instead of buying what they are shoveling lol. Default Ladder:Nosib lvl 55 Marauder Started Jan 5th, Rank:7335 Exp: 96051415

" As a parent, it is your child, your responsibility. A troll isn't. If a child constantly seeks your attention by trashing your new smartphone or pulling your hair, a bit of education might be warranted. And hey, if they want attention, I am more than willing to give it to them if they manage to discuss a topic in an adult and reasonable manner. But then they're not trolling any more, which means: Either way, problem solved. 12/12/12 - the day Germany decided boys are not quite human.
