Don't feed the trolls

Unfortunately, it looks like it's starting. If you see a thread that's an obvious attempt to "get your goat", ignore it! When it drops to page 37, they'll get the hint and go back to where ever they came from. Don't get me wrong, it's hard to do, but in the end, it'll help keep the community that we currently have.

I'll be honest, I'm not really concerned if the servers crash on Wednesday due to an influx of folks. Yes, it'll be a little ugly until they get the hardware installed, but it will get fixed and we'll have smooth sailing again. My real concern, is what's going to happen to the forums. I enjoy coming here each morning and seeing what's going on. There's a great sense of camaraderie here, I'd hate to lose it.

I also don't envy the mods around here once it starts. Give them a smile once in awhile (or support the Save the Kiwi fund). They're going to need it.

I've played all kinds of games on both competitive and casual level and by far PoE has the best community. Well behaved and always ready to help the newcomer. I'd hate to lose it to so, just ignore the trolls and keep the good people near you ;)
I support this thread, for it is starting already.
A sage function would be nice, so you don't bump the troll threads if you respond to them.
GGG banning all political discussion shortly after getting acquired by China is a weird coincidence.
I share your concerns.

Now, Path of Exile is quite the hardcore game, and GGG have quite high standards. I think the ones who will stick with it are the kind of players that make up for a good community :)

The game don't hold your hand, and if we are willing to help the newcomers all should be fine... I hope...
Take care out there.
The more "trolls" we get on the forums is a good thing. Means more people are starting to see PoE, probably due to the media blitz GGG has been on the last few days.

With popularity comes "trolls".

Sounds good. I don't know what that function is in detail, but being able to not those threads would be great. Seems a "Just ignore it" often does the exact opposite of what you intend it to because it also floats the thread to the top again.
12/12/12 - the day Germany decided boys are not quite human.
I expect the forums to deteriorate for the first few months at least. Just as my experience with Dungeon Defenders, alot of the ADHD trolls will move on to the next hot game, or will settle down.
POE is a constantly evolving game, so expect balance changes, buffs and nerfs STILL!

Thing is: Trolls hurt the community, and I'm all for giving them as little breathing space as possible.

Well, we have to trust or moderators! - They're already doing a great job, and I really love their approach on this forum.

It's always a good idea to ignore an obvious troll - but a great troll, won't be noticed that easy :-)
