Solo Self-found end-game
" Commodo, you went with an extremely gear dependent and hence expensive build when you chose CI. My only recommendation to you is to re-roll something that works with basic gear kind of like my build. If you like claws and reave, go with a high life, high life leach and high Armour/evasion build and take Iron Reflexes. You'll be much happier. |

my problem is locking content out. items that only drop on 74+ maps is a insult to us single players.

" If you're only going to accept top-end stuff, and don't want to put anywhere near the amount of work in to get it, just quit the game and go play something that hands you everything like D3. Your gear is more than fine to clear the game and start mapping. You're not a self-found character, so sell some shit like the rest of us and earn your stuff. I'm serious, maybe this just isn't your game? All it seems like you want to do is complain about how it's not perfectly how you want it. Go do something productive with your time damn, life's too short to just constantly bitch and moan about little things. |

" In other games - you get a cookie whether you win or lose. PoE not only takes your fuckin' cookie and eats it in front of you, it slaps you upside the fuckin head a few times for bringing a cookie in the first place.

" I have 2,2k dps with Reave at lvl 67. With any of the current "good" builds I could have 20k dps minimum without "top-end stuff". I don't want the best items, I want ANY items. Literally nothing dropped for me for 10 level. I'm stuck with shitty gear and there was no progress in the last 3 weeks - do you call 3 weeks "no effort"? The fucking league is only 4 months, so I grinded nearly 1/5 of the total league time without any results. And I have 5 twinks, but I don't find anything for them either so don't suggest twinking. " Really stupid accusation when some of us have already played it for more than 1000 hours Standard Forever

It's sad that people find the need to come in here and tell us to play the game like they do or gtfo. I have other choice words for you lot, but I will not utter them because that might surely end in a ban on my part.
What YOU fail to realize, after all this back and forth, is that not everyone is happy and content trading and cheesing their way to and through the endgame. I just came back from watching a few of our celeb streamers. All they do is run around in groups, browse gear selling sites and buying and trading their way through the gear. Of course they find the occasional top tier item, but only because all their trading and running around in groups with 20 auras let them cheese the game and the economy to an xtend that it is disgusting. Take a look at their stashs, talk about having a firm grip on the economy when you are able to buy your way through the game anytime you please. For them, the only factor that is thrilling is mostly hardcore, because they do not even experience the game as a solo character, for which the game has so many hurdles that most builds dont even work because you just cannot get the gear (ex. CI builds). To the OP: you shot yourself in the foot because frankly, while your gear might look appealing to a solo self-founder, it is far from being endgame. That you are still not being able to run endgame maps on your, what, 83 Scion, is perhaps the most telling - apart from the fact that you played for over 300 hours and that's all you have to show for it? GGG, if this is what you are content with for us solo self-found players, than please have the balls to admit it here on your forums, so that so many of us just can stop wasting our time. I'll not grind for 300h with the end result being only having the gear OP has been able to get (and believe me, I bet even getting that gear was painful/lucky -axe- for him). I'm not asking for handouts, but I would love to be able to have a crafting system that I can actually use and have those orbs drop so that I can actually craft. Let the uniques drop, let them drop ALL outside of high end maps! It should not take me 250 fusings for a 5 link or 5000 for a 6link. (I have amassed 50 spread over a dozen chars, since the launch I played.. waaay too much, just to put in relation) But at the end of the day, maybe GGG just does not want me a customer. I know when I am not welcome. My wallet knows it too. I payed my dues (50€), played a good amount (>200h on steam, five times that since open beta), maybe its time to move on. The ball is in your court GGG. do you want us to move on, or do you appreciate the fact that we love your game so much that we really wish you'd love us back and throw us a bone by making the game playable for solo self-found? agreed with everything GDL said. And keep in mind that not only can you not run end game maps after 300+ hours at level 83, but you've died 75 times. its kind of sad that getting self-found progression is the most rewarding part of the game but in itself its basically as dependent on trading as any ARPG, being almost as bad as D3's auction house deal where the fun in the progression gets strangled by having so much of the item system being trade-dependent and highly economical. Some people like this but as a self-found hardcore league player this really turns me off from playing even though I love the game so much. I've already made a post in the suggestion thread for a self-found league and that really does seem to be the best option to satisfy both the economy-crazed traders and self-found players. A response from GGG on this matter would mean more than anything.

Your gear is actually really mediocre.
If anything your post points out that self found does not work in this game. 300 hours for that. Someone could start from scratch and grind enough currency in a tenth that time to have the same gear. I am of the opinion that is really poor design, allowing the economy to trump the enjoyment of the game, but it is what GGG wants and reflects a growing trend amongst gamers not to play games for fun, but as a form of competition for bragging rights and ego. |

" Not to say that this game is bad but it just does not suit my play style. I've sunk about 600 - 700 hrs into it so 300 isn't that much. But I've realized a while back that this game does not target me as potential customer so I spent my money elsewhere. Grim Dawn seems to be more up my alley and I was a huge TQ player and actually still play it. I don't get why people say stuff like "oh you just want everything handed to you" when TQ was a great solo/single player experience and I still play it. But the point is the game is as is intended and many enjoy it as it is. So I prefer not to complain but seek something more to my tastes. |
