Thats how i play too, well most of times. I often trade chaos orbs for alch orbs to roll maps, and often play with my brother. We play Co-op self-found, if you can make any sense of that lol

Anyways if you go full self found the rewards for time invested seem just fine. I mean the promise of good loot is what keeps player motivated to keep playing; And what is good loot to a self found player? Anything better than whats hes using, what a trader would call junk.

I have a Energy Shield build with Ghost Reaver, Vaal Pact and CI. So a total usual build, had Life/Armor builds before so I went for ES this time.

Playtime: 2 days 21 hours
Died: 272 times, say hello to Dominus and the nice Etheral Knive rouge exile and 2-3 other who 1 shooted me (and I played Diablo 2 for 10 years and 2 years Hardcore Selffound and ripped 13 times in total)

All traded and they are still shit (except the amulett, scammed some dude and bought for 1 chaos).

I know the life flasks are senseless with CI but I don't have anything I could use instead so whatever.

Okay so you almost beat the game in 4-5 weeks, another month at most and you'll be in maps. Like I said what is your expectations?

ES builds are extremely gear specific and never recommended for 1st time players. You also played the game for 80ish hours using an extremely hard to build character for new players without any items. You also "traded" so your not self-found, why stop now? Even more so CI gear is super retarded expensive for a NORMAL player.

Also define "shit" because your weapon and claw and shield are fine.

You don't have a +400 es helment but the affixes are perfectly fine. Most other players don't either. Boots and gloves are totally fine. ES belts and Armour are hard to get normally for a regular player. Rings could use some work, just alch some shit or buy some decent ones for 1c.

Also this game is much harder then diablo 2 in a few ways.

Also why not just grab more granite/quicksilver/resists flask? You can use orb of alterations to get remove bleed to beat dominmous much easier and alot of other tricks.

No they are not.
400 ES Shield is MINIMUM. Anything lower would be a joke. And the affixes sucks but I can't reroll them without the orbs (and trading the orbs for better stuff would be the better option with the fucekd up semi random RNG).
The claw is SHIT. The shield is okay till lvl 70 or so but the claw is utterly SHIT.
Physical damage extremly low. Crit chance extremly low. Attack speed extremly low.

And OH HEY, the items you mentioned are the items I traded, guess how they would look if I would use my old claw+shield? 70 ES shield and 100dps (not physical) claw, heeeeeeyaaaaa.

Nope, low ES, bad stats (boots have nice resi but that's it).

I won't start with a 5 Linked ES-Armor and usable stats, can't afford that in the next 3 years I guess.

I play solo and self found. I made it to level 86 in Nemesis before I ripped, but I like this character and dont care if I'm not playing in HC. That was still my only death to date with this setup

Fair enough, that is just a lot of deaths. I am not knocking you, but that is ~4ish deaths per level.
