The 3 difficulty mechanic is outdated IMO

why not just have act 1, 2 and 3 all in one idifficulty, with end game maps starting from 35+? wouldnt it save SOOOO MUCH TIME?1

Seriously though, I love it when people say "gaiz we can't have (insert debatable mechanic here, permanency, skill choices, difficulty levels) because that is so 1999. (or something similar)

What does that mean anyways?

they dont want another world war. WW's are outdated, right?

My brain hurts reading this. If you cannot understand why I would think this after reading that completely irrelevant response then you have no hope.

So I guess difficulty levels are world wide agreed upon as being outdated.

There are no groups of people who enjoy having difficulty levels.

The Bastion difficulty system would fit this game better than the current difficulty system.

actually me and some friends do enjoy difficulty levels since content is limited.
its better than farming every zone for 4+ levels (which whould be the only alternative if you want to scale the endgame around 66+

I hate to say it, but D3 got it right with their monster power system (after mob density patch) which made the ability to farm any part of the game a real viable option.

I also agree with having what D3 has in place sadly. Being able to farm any part of the game instead of relying on act 3 ONLY for maps would do wonders for the game. In the long run they need to have 1 difficulty run for the story, where endgame mapping comes right after that. And to farm maps and such, they need 1 more endgame difficulty to streamline acts 1 - whatever they have in place, so that we can farm ANYWHERE freely instead of being forced to farm the last acts only everytime.

2 difficulties in an arpg. "normal" with normal you can hit the level cap and the second difficulty will scale all areas to max level so you can farm where ever the hell you want adding much more variety to the "end game"

I would go for something like that in a heartbeat. I dont think you'll find many people married to the idea of 3 difficulties. I would venture to guess why we are usually stuck with it and why we generally accept it as players is because we know that's a lot to as ask would exponentially extend development time and costs and just generally not realistically doable with out a game being in development for more than a decade. PoE is in a unique position to do something like this over time though I think and I for one would welcome it.

I can look past the dated "beat the game several times over on harder difficulties to reach level cap" thing. I mean they plan 10 acts, lets say 5 or 6 make it in game. They are going to either have to cram all that in 100 levels (removing a difficulty in the process) or expand the skill tree. Its dated and well...not the biggest issue since ive gotten use to it long ago (still find it a boring way to extend gameplay)

But I want GGG to straight up steal that monster power idea. I want to be able to warp to any map on meci and be able to at least select what level I want the mobs to be on that map...even if they simply boosted XP a bit and didn't mess with loot values like MP does in D3. I want to enjoy the whole game rather than grind Docks and hope for map drops. Yeah there are a few other level 62+ maps...but im missing out on 80% of the rest of the game. Id kill for chambers of sin, vaal ruins, the ledge, some of those act 2 forest maps, act1 beach...you get the point...change in mob type, change in scenery, change in world mechanics.

It cant be that hard to make happen, its just some value changes. Cheap easy way to make endgame a bit more entertaining...and close that epic grind gap between 70-100 due to lack of content appropriate to level.
just for try, for see and for know

and then make some other levels that are completely arbitrary and don;t really give anything except false sense of progression !

OR make the game uninstall itself when booting up!
just think about all the posibilitys! no more mindless grinding! no more false progression!
we can all sit in the forums and blame the game devs all day long until we all forget what the actual game is like! :D
