The 3 difficulty mechanic is outdated IMO
" POE does not even have proper end game content right now. Diablo III's proposed adventure mode is very much in the spirit of action/adventure roleplaying. Last time I checked POE is heavy on action too. |

" You cant even compare the games there is zero role-playing aspect in diablo 3. You get a predefined character with predefined skills and that's it. And no there proposed adventure mode is not in the spirit of the ARPG genre but in the spirit of an MMO game. Its well known concept and its properly taken from wow or something similarly. I said it before it properly would suit D3 best considering its an arcade game and is all about just killing mobs and get loot with higher stats. POE is not even close to that concept. POE is about the role-playing first and foremost and that idea would just be terrible. And POE got incredible endgame I got no idea wtf you on about. Poe endgame is upto whatever the player feel like. You got maps that's actually part of the lore and roleplay. "The world is just an illusion" One player might want to make new build all the time that's his endgame. <--- like me I stop playing any build at around 80-85 and then make new ones. Other players endgame might be to reach lvl 100 and again other players endgame is to finish merciless In poe, endgame is upto the player. They have given us this freedom and playground to do whatever you think is fun. There is nothing in D3, POE should copy because its completely different genres. You might as-well say POE should copy something from call of duty Last edited by Burmeister99#3478 on Dec 3, 2013, 9:42:54 AM

" ^^THIS^^ Your posts in this thread indicate that you are able to enjoy the game as it is presented. You have expressed that you enjoy the journey so much that you would prefer a smoother "ramp-up" of difficulty between A3 and A1 of the next tier. While I won't deny this is a valid want, I would posit that the "ease" with which one can blow through A1 & A2 of the following tier is related to the developers actually giving the players the opportunity to quickly progress toons into content that does provide challenge and reward, provided the player has made good choices in build/gear/skills. Although it has been a while, I seem to recall much the same experience when I played D2. My toons would typically slog hard through normal difficulty as I squeezed every last drop of cheap and easy XP from the game, then a mad rush through Nightmare to the levelling areas in the final act to grind out needed exp for Hell difficulty viability. Smart build and gear choices along the way made it all possible. |
