[Kripp] RoS < POE
" I found that rather funny as well... so many people so eager to hate. |

" Not sure if you noticed but the op has actually edited the title and first post, both used to be different. Nothing to see here.

" Much like how many arguments over PoEs many flaws eventually becomes, "Well it's a free to play game so you can't complain?" One is supposedly buyer's remorse, the other is now invincible from criticism. |

" what kind of stuff have you been smoking? Rifs > maps? made me lol. rifts are basically white maps... theres no way to enhance them. in poe we get white, magic, rare and unique maps... much more in depth. enchant is a dumbed down, easy mode, noob friendly version of orbs. exiting monsters... oh yeah they can back pedal now, amazing stuff! ggg should not take anything for blizzard. blizzard is like the justin bieber of the gaming industry. POE is dead. They keep turning it into an MMO, and shitting relentlessly on solo play. Since release its been nothing but nerf nerf nerf. Cleave, sporker, RF, auras, etc. The skill tree is still too limited, we need at least an extra point every other level. The self found solo player simply cant compete with no lifers, rmters, or group players. Not everyone can play 24/7 or RMT a ton of exalts, dear GGG.
Fanboys gonna fanboy, and call me and others stating this doomsayers and naysayers and haters. The truth is really in front of your eyes, POE has <40k players from the 250k since release. Ouch. 40k players is really nothing, not that 250k was a lot. Meanwhile, ROS is the best thing since LOD. Gone RMAH, all the loot drops are sick, you can enchant a 'shitty' drop, skills and legendary item buffs are absolutely mindblowing, the combat and graphics and monsters and locations tons better than before, the action is like being in one of those ridiculous big budget American movies, the endgame is varied and exciting, build variety is finally in place with all the buffed skill runes and legendary affixes, and the fact cookiecutters like ww/nado and critical mass, and OP and stale shit like lifesteal have been removed. I cant believe this is an expansion to D3, to be honest. Wow, Diablo 3, where have you been all my life? Last edited by jsn006#2582 on Nov 25, 2013, 4:40:20 AM

" Some of us have outgrown such artistic "masterpieces". Also, to call something better than D2 or even LOD is blasphemy. It's not true for poe and it's not true for d3 reaper of whats. D3 is shit. They improved it and it stinks less. Congrats I'm a forum warrior, i was born to post, raised to defend my league. Now my post has been removed, chained and exiled by mods who Ban. Ban is my brother; i do not fear it. I see it in the eyes of men and beasts that i troll. It will take me to play the actual game when i am ready and i am not ready.

" If PoE for you was nothing but nerf, nerf, nerf, cleave, spork, rf and so on, then of course you feel that the choices are limited. You never even tried to explore them. I also wonder why it is a bad thing that someone who plays more has more wealth than someone who plays less. That is the only outcome that makes sense. If you try to argue, please use arguements that make sense. Your way of putting things is just laughable. " First of all, your numbers are completely random and nowhere near the truth. What are they even supposed to stand for? At release there were something like 70k concurrent players if I remember correctly. 1 month has since passed and steam still peaks at 20k+ every day. That doesn't even count for the people not using steam. And claiming 40k is nothing for an indie company...I don't even know what to say. " I wish you the best of luck with that game, then. |

" What's in front of my eyes is your claim. Back it up with verifiable sources, if you want it to have substance. Not that it matters to me, because I rarely group or trade, so I don't really care. I can play PoE for years even with what we have so far, and that's fine. :) As for RoS, that's also right in front of my eyes: the same issues that I quit D3 over, namely zero customization when it comes to builds, no incentive to play multiple characters of the same class, very limited customization when it comes to gear and stats (can't play a caster barabrian!), general lack of appealing mechanics (can't play a proper summoner), very simplified mechanics, character-scaled difficulty that makes it all rather same-y feeling (still applies with sliders as that still won't give zones a unique feel), watercolors art style with WoW-style armor. And none of the new stuff appeals to me: Class-tailored loot is a turn off, endless paragon levels feel like a hamster wheel, removal of the gold AH (the one good thing D3 had over PoE), and so forth. I'm sure I'll pick up RoS at some point and get 20-30 hours of entertainment out of it, but the expansion doesn't address the core design flaws of D3. It was, and will remain to be, a D2 Lite, whereas PoE is, and will remain to be, a D2 Extreme. I do want a complex ARPG. I do not want a console-style arcade ARPG. You should hang out on the D3 forums, though. I don't get why people can't let go and move on. (Of course, if you posted like this on the D3 forums, just about PoE, they would delete and lock your posts, because that's how Blizzard handles criticism.) Personally, I'm more curious about Grim Dawn and the PoE expansion than D3 PoS. | |
" I saw promising from Blizzard about how D3 will be a great game. Fun & challenging & everything. But after 60$ D3 turns out to be stupid and boring. Now they say RoS is good, sounds very familiar. And that's the reason I'm not going to pay another 30$ for RoS. Lure you in and charge, that's called scam. Maybe I'm not going to play PoE next year but I'm definitely not going to try RoS. |
